Aside from the few kegels you do (which all women should do anyway), you wouldn't even know it was a postnatal workout. (She does give great advice in an informational segment for postnatal women though). This is a DVD you should purchase if you want to tone your entire body and feel like you worked out with a personal trainer. She does not miss any muscle group. It also has some cardio to keep your heartrate up throughout. Overall, I would highly recommend this DVD to everyone wanting to get into shape regardless of whether or not you just had a baby. DescriptionThis workout DVD is 48 minutes of high/low aerobics done to incredible music. Christi Taylor is known for both her fun choreography and fun music. Her outstanding breakdown/cueing will have you dancing like a dance queen. ReviewsA fun and intense workout, but for lovers of complex choreography only! The workout begins with an "invisible" warm-up, which means the warm-up stretches (about 3 minutes) merge right into the first cardio combo. Christi begins with simple steps such as a grapevine and then gradually adds on with arms movements, twists, and turns for more complex sequences. In the first half of the workout, she strings together 3 different combinations, combining only 2 together at first and then all three. She does the same thing in the second half of the workout, this time using 3 new combinations. (The DVD is chaptered for each sequence.) At the end of the cardio, Christi incorporates a quick but thorough 3 minutes of stretching, bringing in the total workout time right around 50 minutes. The DVD has several bonus features. The 6.5 minute abs segment, performed to the tune "Tequilla," is a fairly standard sequence of crunch variations. There is also a bonus warm-up, which involves 5.5 minutes of more specific stretching than what is included in the workout's "invisible" warm-up. There is also 13 minutes of bonus cardio in which all six combos are performed together; or, for the more choreographically-challenged, there is a 7 minute "Move Master" segment which breaks down the individual moves in each combination (Christi is facing away from you for this feature). Finally, there is a "Behind the Scenes" look at the making of this video--at 24 minutes, this is probably quite a bit more footage than what would interest most people. As expected, I had trouble following the choreography in this video. First of all, you need A LOT of room from side to side, which often presented a challenge. Secondly, although I could usually follow Christi's initial moves, once she started changing directions, I was lost. Two of the background exercisers did offer low-impact, modified versions of the exercises, but they were very difficult to see. However, I found that by remaining faced forward towards my TV the entire time (ie, obmitting all of the turns), I could at least follow along enough to get a good workout. So, although this video was not for me, those who like complex choreography and upbeat 70s-style music (eg, "Devil in a Blue Dress," "Your Song," "Jerimiah Was a Bullfrog") are likely to find it to be a fun, intense workout. |

ReviewsNOT recommended for working out. Sweat kills them I'm not a Vulcan... my ears are not unusually shaped... I'm sure many others face this same problem (and indeed some of the reviews prove that). Come on, Sennheiser engineers, I challenge you to come up with a solution. These headphones are WAY too good to discontinue... but they need to work well with sweat. What if a ridge was cut in the outer earpiece to prevent the water seal from forming... and also if the tiny holes in the metallic part were shaped differently to prevent the formation of the sweat film? --Still a loyal Sennheiser fan LOVE these headphones! There are numerous workout mistakes that hold people back from progressing in their weight loss and/or muscle building training programs. Some mistakes are quite scientific in nature, such as not getting enough proteins in your system after a workout, but most are as common sense as common sense gets. There’s no reason for these mistakes to be committed, yet we’re all guilty of making these mistakes from time to time, or even on a continual basis. In order to have a truly effective workout you need to understand the reasoning behind these mistakes and how you can correct them.
Workout mistake 1: Not eating immediately after a workout
Some people don’t take the time to ‘feed’ their muscles after a workout with the necessary protein and carbohydrates. You need to be taking in food within about 30 minutes after your workout to have the full effect. This window of opportunity means that you need a quick meal, something that doesn’t take long to prepare, making those protein and carb shakes the ideal post-workout meal. This will allow your body to recover quicker and help your muscles grow.
Workout mistake 2: Training without a plan
A lot of people train by going to a gym, lifting whatever weights are available, playing with whatever machine is available, and waiting for their favourite piece of equipment to become available. Doing this consistently is a complete waste of time. You need to develop goals as to why you want to workout, assess where you are now, and what plan of action will allow you to get to where you want to be. This will make your workouts more focused, and more effective.
Workout mistake 3: Repeating the same workouts
You don’t want to be repeating your workouts from one session to the next. You need to move your attention from your areas of strength to your weaker points, which means doing workouts that really challenge you. Make sure that you are continually improving after each workout, either by doing just one more rep, or adding a little more weight to the exercise, or doing an extra minute of cardio. Whatever it is make sure you are improving on your previous workout.
Workout mistake 4: Training without intensity
Some people tend to just coast through a workout; using light weights in low reps, low intensity cardio, and overall low intensity workouts. In order to make significant gains you need to train with intensity and push yourself to improve in each workout. Rather than relying on a long, steady cardio workout, try training in high intensity intervals. And instead of doing higher rep ranges with lighter weights, do lower rep ranges with more weights. The harder you train, the quicker you will see results.
Workout mistake 5: Thinking you need to ‘feel the burn’
Some people think that to have an effective workout you need to feel that burn in your muscles. That burn is a result of lactic acid building up during the workout and may actually slow down muscle growth, not speed it up. It has nothing to do with muscle growth, and nothing to do with how hard you’re training. You can reduce lactic build-up by training in a rep range of 5-7 rather than higher rep ranges of 10 and above.
Workout mistake 6: Comparing yourself to others
Don’t compare yourself to the professional body builders or the professional athletes who train for hours every day. Comparing yourself to others lowers your self-esteem and confidence, making you frustrated and unhappy. Focus on your own goals, and the results you want to see in yourself through each of your workouts. Compare yourself to yourself yesterday, or yourself during the previous workout, and make sure that you are improving on what and who you were before today.
Workout mistake 7: Making excuses for missing a workout
We all have excuses, and we’ve all used them, but excuses get us absolutely nowhere. We don’t gain anything from using our excuses, and we certainly don’t grow from them, physically and mentally. Drop the excuses. Some people don’t see results immediately so they stop trying, others say it’s too hot or too cold, and still most say they don’t have enough time. You need to accept total and absolute responsibility for your life. If you’re not seeing results find out why, maybe you need to train with more intensity, maybe you’re not eating properly; find out why, and rectify the situation. If you feel you don’t have enough time to workout, decide to manage your time so that only activities that are essential to you consume your time, and taking care of your body is as essential as it gets. If you want to workout in the morning get out of bed an hour earlier, which means you go to sleep an hour earlier. Take responsibility for all of your actions and create the masterpiece of your life.
The first step to rectifying any mistake in your training is identifying the mistake. Identify exactly what you’ve been doing incorrectly, learn from the mistake, and find out how you can correct the situation. The real mistake in training is knowing you’re making mistakes but doing nothing about it, and just repeating those same errors over and over again. Make significant progress in your training and you will be able to make significant progress in other areas of your life.

This brand is the exception - awesome! "You don't smell it son, you drink it." There's a scripture that describes my reaction to this drink. Beer is a beverage that is sold in many parts of the world. While the stores that sell us this cooling beverage are almost everywhere, they do need some help. The help they get comes in the form of beer distributors. These distributors can be found as employees of some of the largest beer names in the world. These will be companies like Millers, Budweiser, Michelob, Coors, Clydesdale and many others.
The various beer distributors will sometimes work for one company or they will be an independent distributor. With independent beer distributors the various beer types will be gathered together. The various amounts that are required by the different alcoholic stores and restaurants and other such places will be noted down. Once the separate amounts have been found the various beers that are required for these places are packed safely for distribution.
The beer distributors will have in general a fleet of trucks and vans in which they can transport the beer they have stocked. As this supply of beer becomes lessened they will have a clear idea of which beers are currently in more demand than others.
This information allows them to call the beer manufacturers and state how much of the various types of beer are required. Also the beer distributors will have good idea of how the market for beer sales is. Based on the information that is received the distributors will be able to arrange their distribution prices.
There are some beer distributors who will sell beer from one company brand only. These can be beer brands like those from Anheuser-Busch, Heineken and others. You will also find that beer distributors don’t sell domestic beer brands only. There are many companies which import popular brands of beer. These companies will look to see how their customer base’s response to these various imported beers is like.
When the beer distributors have gained an idea of how much imported and domestic beer they need to load into their trucks it is easy for these companies to contact their suppliers. The amount of beer that is order for a month will ensure that the beer distributors have the ability of developing a good rapport with their suppliers.
What all of this shows you is that beer distributors, beer shops and suppliers all depend on us the consumer to show out beer preferences. Knowing how we feel about certain beer brands can help all of these groups to produce a beer that we will enjoy drinking.

I got this because I just don't have many DVD's for the ball and wanted to expand the use of the equipment. That said she is OK on the basic instructions. I think someone who has never used the stability ball could be unstable and would tend to give up. Exercise in general -- No I would not say beginner - I could see trying to stabilize on the ball and follow the Pilates moves would send the user to the floor more than once. I think this is a nice workout with great moves for toning, flexibility, and breathing techniques. It has the capability to bring your heart rate up. ReviewsReset Button Removed If you look at the product picture that Amazon has, that is a correct representation. However, if you look at the user pictures, or google for a manual you see that previously the product had four buttons on the front, one of which was that reset button. I'm guessing some people were pressing that button by mistake and losing part of their day's activities so Omron decided to remove it. That's fine, except now if you want to reset the display to zero you have to stick a pin in the reset hole on the back, and then enter all your data again...time, stride length, weight. Does this matter. To me it's a pain in the neck, but to most of the people who use the device it may be just fine since what they really want is to measure their total activity for each day, not a particular walk. (Of course for a single walk, you just look at the display before you leave and subtract that reading when you are done.) Seems like Omron could have designed a different reset button that was harder to press by accident instead of eliminating it entirely. Whatever, it's not a huge deal, I just thought people should be aware of this. Aside from that the device seems fine, and that is covered by lots of other reviews, so I won't repeat them. I just gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of my own needs. Fairly easy to use once you get used to which button controls which feature. Advice - when you are setting the watch up for the first time, have the manual in front of you. I accidentally deleted my settings the first few times. Using the watch while jogging and walking is very easy - the screen is much easier to read than other products I have tried. I was most interested in tracking heart rate, calories burned, and some basics of how I was working out in the fat burning and fitness zones. This watch does a great job with that - afetr you complete a workout it produces a simple summary of total cals burned, how many minutes you spent in far burn vs fitness, and your average heart rate. I am sure hard core runners want something more than tracks mileage, but I tried a watch like that and found it too cumbersome. Since I am merely using this for fitness, it works perfectly. |

It downloads the data into a nameless database that seems to be prone to corruption, because I have found several sites that offer Timex HRM database recovery FOR A FEE. I have lost two such files which I would like to recover, but not enough to pay for the recovery service. I do like the graphs it produces, but I would like a way to remove leading and/or trailing data, separate a single session into multiple sessions, and to display the kind of lap data (HR averages by interval) that the watch keeps. It does provide a way to MERGE sessions, which is helpful if you walk away from the recorder for a minute or two, which stops the recorder. My normal cardio workout is 30 to 40 minutes on an elliptical machine PLUS 30-40 minutes on a treadmill. Sometimes I fail to stop the data recorder between machines, which adds the 5-10 minute recovery period between machines to the graph. Waste of time-x. Depends upon your philosophy However, my intended use of this product was to work in conjunction with my Timex heart rate monitor, speedometer, and watch. Thus this data recorder is part of a larger system for collecting fitness data. I went with Timex vs. some of there competitors in this space as the watch and HR monitor were gifts. Overall I have been pleased with the system (although the HR sensors went bad sooner than I thought they should). But the Timex philosophy was to keep the size of the watch unit relatively small so that it could be used as your day to day watch. Therefore the overall system is broken up into pieces (this data recorder being one.) To use the overall system, you have to strap on the watch, the HR band, the GPS unit, and the data recorder. Then you have to get the system working and synched up with the watch prior to starting your workout. This process, while not painful, is not elegant. Thus I am not convinced this multi-unit approach is optimal. Again, this unit (and the overall Timex fitness system) work as advertised. If you don't mind having several units strapped to yourself to generate and record your workout information, then this system is likely something you should consider purchasing. If you would prefer a single unit that is larger but more integrated, then keep looking. Detailed record for the compulsive ordered as a gift, got the wrong item. |

The large was too big around my rib cage and didn't keep a consistent heart rate connection. The large is definitely true to size, as it is advertised as 36". My WearLink transmitter, which came with my Polar F11 heart rate monitor, snaps in perfectly, and I have not had any problems keeping a reliable heart rate reading. Heart monitors originally were used for helping those with heart problems, but now they have become quite technically advanced. As fitness became increasingly popular these devices were soon used by exercise enthusiasts and athletes.
The first heart monitors consisted of a chest monitor and a rather bulky wrist receiver with an LED screen. These old devices are still used but now they are more advanced. The designs are better with some acting like watches and others having additional features like lighted screens, water resistance and alarms to let you know when you are exceeding your maximum heart rate limit.
Now heart monitors have become very accessible and have many functions to help to monitor your heart when you exercise. Data is collected and configured just like a computer on the more advanced models. You can get data on the lowest and highest heart rates you have experienced while exercising. The amount of calories you have burned during your workout can also be recorded on many models. Oxygen use and multiple memory capabilities are more features on the sophisticated heart monitors. You can even download data to your computer and compare performances.
To use a heart monitor effectively you should consider being familiar with the basics. You should try to ascertain your RHR, resting heart rate and your maximum heart rate. To estimate your RHR you should be stress free and completely relaxed. You can use a monitor or your finger on your wrist to determine this.
To get your MHR, maximum heart rate, you will need to configure some numbers. A first time athlete can take away your age from 220 if you are a male. If you are a female subtract your age from 226. An experienced athlete will subtract ½ their age from 205. This is a rough estimate and should be confirmed by doing a treadmill test at your local gym or a lab. Working out strenuously for several minutes will give you an understanding of what your maximum heart rate should be.
When you understand how to use a heart monitor with your exercise program you will be able to monitor your progress with each workout routine. In order to get the maximum advantages from your exercise routine it is good to understand how far you can push yourself. You can also understand if you are not working hard enough and reaching your maximum heart rate.
So whichever heart stimulating sport you may be into, a heart rate monitor can help you to improve your endurance. Plus you will find that your heart and your competitive edge will improve with the use of one of these devices.

Fitness walking have become more and more popular the last few years. From the aerobic trend to lifting weights in the gym, it seems that fitness walking has become one of the more popular forms of staying and getting in shape in the 2000’s. And sure, it’s easy to do; fits the beginner exerciser as well as the more athletic one. It can be done almost everywhere; all you need is some comfortable clothes and a good pair of shoes. The Hollywood celebs does it; the mom next door does fitness walking.

They increase calorie burning, improves posture, helps back-, hip- and neck problems. If you fuel up your fitness walking with a pair of MBT shoes, you will see results before you know it.
Is there anything more to do to get your fitness walking to be really effective? Well, heard of Nordic walking? This way of exercising, that includes a pair of walking sticks, is a popular way of fitness walking that started out in Scandinavia. Basically you just do the fitness walking, adding a pair of walking poles that looks like skiing sticks. They increase energy burning and heart rate, and can improve the calorie burning with up to 25%! Takes no private teaching, just a bit practising and you will be on your way!

ReviewsTwo weeks in and seeing results At times you can hear someone's voice in the background music, but it's not too distracting. I'd highly recommend this DVD to anyone looking for a fun way to work out. Not as Advertised Loving it! Tilt, tuck and tighten! Shaun T. is really charismatic and motivational and keeps me going through every workout. My favorite workout by far is the Cardio Fat Burn since it's the workout with the most dance-routines. I make sure to work that one in every day - it's only thirty minutes and the time just flies by. I also really like how there is a tracker on the bottom that tells you what is coming up (which, I think makes it seem to go by faster, at least for me) and the music is really upbeat as well. I typically do at least two of the workouts per day and with time, I may look into his new program - Insanity. I would recommend this to anyone! Not the best- A little repetitive |

DescriptionThis multilevel class is safe for and accessible to beginners, and just right for intermediates. Three of Fonda's able and motivating instructors teach the 45-minute step class. Half the room does lower-intensity moves; the other uses higher steps and higher-intensity techniques. The teaching technique is excellent: a pattern is taught on the floor before taking it up on the step. One participant does the routines totally without the step to guide beginners or others who don't feel comfortable using the step. The patterns never get very complex, but they are varied enough to keep you interested and energized, and you can adjust your step height to make the workout harder if you wish. The instructors cue seamlessly. ReviewsNice Hip Hop Throwback The instructor Linda Nader is upbeat and not overly irritating, she tries to show you all the steps as simple as possible and then jumps right into the move. The dancers are extremely annoying (especially the Danielle chick) as they get their moment in the sun by hitting the moves with too much extra effort, proving they are professionals and making you feel inadequate because you can't dance as good as they do. Eric Nies has no reason for being there (maybe just eye candy) because most of the time he is not in sync with the steps and he seems like he doesn't know what moves are going to be next. (He must've missed a couple of rehearsals!) The complete routine consists of a lengthy warm-up, the actual dance sequence and a cool down followed by an ab workout, which I haven't even bothered to look at yet. The warm-up has lunges, stretches, foot taps and hamstring pulls while the dance number takes you back with moves such as the pepperseed and the "Creep" from a TLC video. The cool down has you balancing on one foot along with other moves that effectively bring your heart rate back down. Overall, the video is great for someone who is just getting back into their exercise routine and wants to rev it up a bit. But for me it was just too much because I am completely out of shape and I need something extremely low impact! Hadn't been able to find it A "Hip Hop" down Memory Lane My only complaint would be that the music could have been louder. If you're going to simulate a club, then the music would have a more sublime effect. Overall, still a lot of fun and good for you. I miss old MTV workouts... Fun and works! |

This beautifully produced exercise video was developed by Peter Martins and the New York City Ballet with the New York Sports Club. First you watch the rippling muscles of four gorgeous ballet dancers (two men and two women) performing warm-up moves to classical ballet music. Martins uses ballet terminology in his cuing and no technique is taught, so it's look-and-follow if you have no previous ballet training. Next you get down on a mat for slow lower-body stretches. A difficult abdominal series is next, followed by "floor barre" exercises to tone the thighs and buttocks while still using the abdominals. After introducing moves to strengthen the back and upper body, Martins runs through a series of standing exercise segments using various ballet movements to strengthen the legs and postural muscles. The workout is divided into 17 short sections, which may give it a disjointed feeling if you're used to more continuity. At the end is a bonus sequence with profiles of the four performers, all dancers with the New York City Ballet. We get to watch them performing, practicing, and eating. One dancer makes the point that ballet is very athletic, but because it's supposed to look ethereal, the hard work stays hidden from the audience. If you love ballet (even just watching it), you'll enjoy this workout. ReviewsReset Button Removed If you look at the product picture that Amazon has, that is a correct representation. However, if you look at the user pictures, or google for a manual you see that previously the product had four buttons on the front, one of which was that reset button. I'm guessing some people were pressing that button by mistake and losing part of their day's activities so Omron decided to remove it. That's fine, except now if you want to reset the display to zero you have to stick a pin in the reset hole on the back, and then enter all your data again...time, stride length, weight. Does this matter. To me it's a pain in the neck, but to most of the people who use the device it may be just fine since what they really want is to measure their total activity for each day, not a particular walk. (Of course for a single walk, you just look at the display before you leave and subtract that reading when you are done.) Seems like Omron could have designed a different reset button that was harder to press by accident instead of eliminating it entirely. Whatever, it's not a huge deal, I just thought people should be aware of this. Aside from that the device seems fine, and that is covered by lots of other reviews, so I won't repeat them. I just gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of my own needs.
