There are many exercise videos and magazines out there you can purchase. Once you purchase them you need to follow there programs and instructions. Look for exercises that target the butt. Examples are squats, lunges, dumbell deadlifts to name a few. these exercises tone the butt and give it more shape and curve.
Also look for magazines or videos that target the abs. Examples are crunches, bridges, leg raise to name a few. These exercises target the abdominals and get them toned so that they are held in place. Also don't for get to some cardio to burn fat.
Buy nutrition magazines and diet books or videos.
Again there is loads of information from magazines and books on the type of food that you need to eat to burn fat off your butt and stomach.
You need to stay away from simple sugars like white bread and processed junk food that contains saturated fat. Portion control should be adhered to. What i mean by this is that you should eat small meals but frequently. When you eat small meals your bellly will not protrude like it does when you eat a karge meal. Large meals stretch the abdominal wall and then it is hard to get it back to normal size when you lose weight or have an empty stomach.
Make sure you eat a lot of protein like fish, chicken, lean meat, etc. Then also eat complex carbs like whole wheat bread and lots of fruits and vegetables.
Never ever skip breakfast.
Never miss breakfast because if you do you are setting yourself up for failure. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It cranks up the metabolic machine. And when you eat breakfast you are less likely to pig out in the evening and ruin your efforts at attaining a flat stomach and a curvy butt.
Sleep eight hours a night.
Sleeping a hours a night will aid weight loss even faster. Yes we lose weight when we are asleep. So get the proper amount.
Avoid alcohol.
Women who drink alcohol get beer bellies just like men do. And it is not just lager that gives you a beer belly, all types of alcohol will give you one.
So ladies if you follow these steps religiously and for a life time there is no reason why you can't sport a flat stomach and a curvy butt.

We have all seen them. I call them Gym fly’s. The guys that hang around the gym and do more talking than working out. They have the latest workout clothes, and are sipping on their carbohydrate and protein loaded fitness drink while they work their jaws. They LOOK the part, but in reality, they are simply LOOKING. Their target? Women.
From my experience, most women are at the gym to do one thing: workout. They are not interested in meeting guys and they are not impressed by how much weight you can throw overhead or how cool your arms look in your wife beater. The problem is, gym fly’s don’t get this. They often hover around these ladies ready to offer their “advice†to the “helpless woman.†Well ladies, listen up. Here are a few tips to help you keep these BUGS away from you and help you concentrate on getting a serious workout!
1. Knowledge is power…use it!-Many guys love to go up to women to give them advice on their lifting technique or workout in general. First of all, if ANYONE is going to put themselves out there in this way, you MUST be tactful…most of these guys AREN’T. Secondly, the fact is, a lot of their advice is often flat out WRONG. Women, if you do your homework and brush up on both your workout knowledge and technique, you will put THEM in their place. Trust me, they will leave you alone.
2. When in doubt, bring a friend-Working out with a partner will not only help keep your workouts focused and safe, it will also help keep the unwanted gym fly’s at bay. People who are together are less likely to be bothered when working out
3. Crank up the music-I like to listen to music when I workout personally. Rather than dealing with whatever is pumped through the speakers at the gym, I like to pop in the ear buds of my iPod. If you are there to concentrate on getting in shape, not socializing, then listening to music or audio books via earphones will surely let others know you mean business. Anyone who decides to interrupt you had better have a good reason as the simple fact that you will have to stop and pull out your earphones will deter many from even bothering.
4. Don’t go to the gym-Wait a second, don’t go to the gym? Yes, I said it. See, the mere fact that there are so many distractions at gyms makes working out at a gym not an option for a growing contingent of fitness buffs. This is not to say DON’T WORKOUT, but instead, workout outside of gyms at a boot camp style class. Obviously, you won’t have to deal with the aforementioned gymflys, nor any of the other interruptions and distractions that keep you from what you really want to do…get in shape! Outdoor workouts are a great alternative and if you take some time to learn a little about all the ways you can get in shape just using your own bodyweight, you may decide to stay away from the gym altogether.

If you lead a busy life, with kids, work, and weeknight activities, you might have fallen into the habit of not taking care of yourself. If you look in the mirror and do not like the extra weight that you are now carrying as a result of a busy lifestyle, you still may be perplexed because you do not know how to start putting together a weight-loss program that is right for you. Weight loss programs abound in book form and online, and some offer rapid weight loss, but that might not be the best weight loss for you. Drinking eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day is another easy to implement healthy choices into your weight loss program as well.

There are three basic areas that you want a comprehensive exercise program to cover, and they are cardiovascular exercise, weight training, and stretching. If you have not exercised on a regular basis in a while, it is best to start small and easy. Taking a walk is a great way to get in a cardiovascular workout, and you can break a longer workout into several short ones held throughout the day, so it is possible to fit it into your schedule. At first, you can simply use your own body to provide the resistance needed for weight training exercises. As you can progress, you can begin to add in hand weights or weight machines. Stretching is safest after you have participated in some form of cardio activity first, so that you muscles are warmed up a bit and ready for the lengthening they will receive from the stretches.

When you think of flooring options for a given room in your home, you think of some of the major options for flooring materials, like different types of hard wood flooring, laminate flooring, vinyl flooring, marble flooring, tile flooring, stone flooring, even bamboo flooring and cork flooring. For whatever reason, rubber flooring seems to be one of the least appreciated and acknowledged of the flooring options although it is quite a viable one.
In most cases, rubber flooring is not necessarily the type of flooring that you want to put in your living room or kitchen, but there are some areas of the house in which rubber flooring is the perfect option. Such is the case for kids' playrooms, garages, basements, and other such areas. Rubber flooring is an excellent option for home gyms or workout rooms as well.
If you are considering rubber flooring for any room or area in your home, here are five good and plausible reasons why it is the best flooring option for your needs.
Reason #1: Rubber Flooring Absorbs Sound
Unlike wooden flooring, linoleum and even carpet flooring options one of the best things about rubber flooring is that it absorbs sound. For this reason, it is perfect for rooms like the gym in the home, where weights are constantly picked up and dropped to the ground. One of the downsides to having expensive wooden or marble floors in any room in your home or office is that it is really difficult to clean them. It takes more than a wet rag or a wet mop to clean a hardwood floor properly and safely, while taking the best care of it that you can. Luckily, when it comes to rubber flooring you do not have to worry about that, which makes it perfect for garages and even dog rooms or mud rooms, rooms that do not normally get cleaned all of the time but need to be able to be cleaned easily. It resists marking and marring, and it is easy to wipe down as you go if need be as well, with nothing but a mild soap and water solution.
If you haven't considered rubber flooring for your home gym, playroom, garage, or basement you probably should. Over my years as a performance coach I have performed and overseen 1000’s of postural / movement assessments. In doing so, I have successfully used push-ups as both an assessment tool and as a corrective exercise.
Here is one of the most common movement flaws I’ve seen during the push up and a simple way to correct it.

Common Push Up Flaw - Faulty Spinal Alignment
This type of flaw is seen in just about gym and is normally caused by a lack of general body awareness, torso strength and postural stability.
Faulty spinal alignment can appear as;
-Sagging head
-Sagging back (lordosis)
-Hunching back (kyphosis)
-Any combination of the above
In some cases people will begin with ideal alignment and gradually loose alignment as the exercises progresses and fatigue sets in. In other cases they will start out right away with poor alignment.
Regardless of when the fault happens, this is a muscle imbalance that needs to be corrected!
The imbalance I’m referring to is that the mover muscles (chest, shoulders, triceps, etc;) involved in pushing the body away from the floor are stronger and posses more endurance than the spinal stabilizer muscles that are responsible for maintaining ideal alignment.
In other words, you’re unable to control the movement and force that you can create. This can put you on the fast track to injury.
It’s for this reason that I usually do a max rep test on the push up during my performance assessments. This allows me to see if their stabilizers give out before their prime movers.
The solution to this alignment problem lies with a very high tech piece of gym equipment.
A dowel rod.
There is the 3 step progression we use to correct faulty spinal alignment issues using the dowel rod.
Step 1- Build awareness
The quadruped position shortens the lever arm (bent legs) and takes most of the load off the system while still keeping the torso and arms in a very similar position to the push up.
The dowel is placed along the spine and is kept in contact with 3 points; back of the head (not the top), Thoracic region (between shoulder blades) and Sacrum (tail bone). This forces you to understand and become aware of proper alignment.
Step 2- Static control
The elbow plank takes what was learned in step one and lengthens the lever arm (straight legs). This increases postural stability and endurance in a manner necessary to perform the push up successfully.
I try to progress everyone to be able to maintain this position for at least 1min without deviation.
The hold time we choose for each individual is usually double the number in seconds of their max push up reps.
Example= if your rep max is 30 push-ups then you should be able to hold the elbow plank for 60sec.
We use this standard because the average push up is performed at a 1-1 tempo, which translates into each rep taking 2sec, at 30 reps that would take 60 sec.
Step 3- Dynamic control
Once awareness is created and strength/endurance is built, the final step is to integrate both components into the actual movement itself, in this case the push up.
The dowel push-up is much more challenging than it looks because so much effort is dedicated to maintaining alignment. Eventually, as your postural endurance improves, this push- up will become easier.
We try to get everyone to achieve the same rep max with the dowel rod as without it. Once you can do this, the dowel is no longer needed.

A few additional notes on the above progression;
- During all (1-3) progressions, the dowel should remain in contact with the back of the head, T-spine and sacrum.
- Begin with neutral spinal alignment and stop the exercises when spinal curvatures change or the dowel falls.
- The worst your alignment is, the harder these exercises will be and the longer it will take to progress through them.
- Use a mirror at floor level to help with visual feedback, body position and awareness.
- In the case of a hunch back (kyphosis), I recommend you perform some additional anterior abdominal stretches because the rectus abdominals is most likely overactive.

Like it or not sometimes, you are the role model for your kids. Some people who order Tony Horton's P90X fitness program may not realize just how important the P90X calendar is to their success with the program.
