Product works better than I do

Exercise is hard work. Pilates is not easy. As long as my remaining VCR holds out, I'll keep trying pilates. I'm still working on the basics. The Bun & Thigh Sculpting, Ab Sculpting, and Accelerated Body-Sculpting will have to wait until I'm in better shape. If you're in good shape and want the Winsor Pilates series cheap, this is the way to go. But as a former couch potato, I feel well past my prime after a workout. It's both good and bad.

Beautiful dancers, beautiful costumes, beautiful music. As an advanced beginner, this gives me a good combination of things I can do and things that are still challenging. After the workout, they have step by step instructions to help you break down the moves, and there's a list of the music used so you can buy it yourself. There's a lot of material here, and you can watch it either with or without the voice cues. I think it's a worthwhile investment.


Not for beginners.

The dancers are beautiful. The costumes are beautiful. The instruction sucks. This is NOT a video for complete beginners, like myself. I found myself extremely frustrated by the speed of the instructions and the rapid movement from step to step.

The instructors are all wearing long skirts and you cannot see the knee and leg movements they are pointing out to you. It is difficult to copy a movement that you cannot see.

Do not buy this video until you have a firm foundation in bellydance. I'm sure its great for intermediates or advanced.


Fun video but not as easy as it looks

This should be your first work out tape unless you actively do an arobics exercise and are in reasonalbe shape. I found Neon's instruction in the 'step-by-step' section very helpful. This section is great for thoes who do not have any background. For thoes who have background, the section makes a great check and drill. No matter your size, this workout really works out most of the target areas. I think Luscious is a nice but challengin work out for beginners. I am pushing into my one year in belly dancing, and i found this video informative, creative and simply divine. the music is perfect for each section. I never got bored with this workout because of how each dancer lead the section and the different costumes. My arms and thighs alone burned with satisfaction.

Luscious - The Bellydance Workout for Beginners

This is not for beginners--you can't see their feet, they go to fast and they get caught up in their performance that they forget it is supposed to be for beginners. Don't waste your money-- Rania has some better DVD's out there that are really great for beginners.

I did break a sweat but it was because I was trying so hard to keep up and I still was confused and lost. I never knew if my feet were positioned right or not because I could not see their feet. These people should give people who bought this DVD back their money because they misrepresented--it is not for beginners! It is for the advanced--probably those who took their classes.


Perfect basic yummy practice for beginners

If you are brand new to bellydance, I highly recommend this DVD. I have had several bellydance DVDs, and use different ones for different reasons, but I'd rate this one very high in the "practice the basics while enjoying yourself" category ... it gives a very nice fundamental dance vocabulary for your body and dance, to practice and build on as time goes by ... I find all of the teachers and the instructions to be very pleasant and good as well ... There are pointers and some instruction, most especially in the technique breakdown ... It's nice because you are having fun and feeling good while learning and increasing your skill ... Also it provides a healthy dose of how moves affect your body (internal and external) and encourages self expression and Love ... Om Shanti

Disappointed by lack of 'instruction'

I was really looking forward to getting this, and am pretty disappointed.
There is basically no intro, no instructions or time allowed for you to get the steps down. I haven't done alot of workout videos, so that's why i figured I'd go w/ Richard Simmons'.
The DVD jumps right into a routine without any breakdown of the steps at all, so you don't even know what's coming next. I guess you're just supposed to flounder until you get them down. Also, the warm-up isn't until after the 1st routine which seemed a little off to me...
It did get me to work up a sweat, but It frustrated me more than anything since I could barely keep up with the routine changes.
You also need quite a bit of room to do the steps, so my living room was barely adequate. I'll try it again of course, but if you are uncoordinated and need something with step by step instructions, then this might not work for you.


love this workout

I love doing this workout! The whole thing is like 50 mintues and I was surprised to see that there is an ab workout at the end. I like doing workout dvds at home and this was my first "dance" one. The moves are very easy, after 2 or 3 times you remember the order of everything. You don't need a whole lot of space to do it. Richard Simmons is cheesy but motivating. haha After the holidays I definitely plan on buying more.

Fun way to get fit :)

I absolutely love this DVD. I love the warm up, exercise 1, and exercise 2. Sabrina is a great dance teacher, and yes, it does take a few times watching the dvd to get the steps right, but once you learn it, you know the routine, and it's really easy and fun to do. It also gives you a great workout. Not to mention the music. With a lot of other workout DVDs, I don;t think that they have cool music like this one. I really recommend this to people who are 11-15, but not really younger than 11, because it may be kinda hard for them to keep up. But if you are in the age range that I said, it's literally not a hard program, maybe a little quick, but totally worth it in the end. These are super fun dances, that I love to show my parents :)


Trying to get the hang of it is half the FUN!

I think some reviewers are hard on this DVD. If they got familiar with the DVD before rating it, it would help. For instance, there is a section that shows the dance moves. And, maybe it isn't 'on the music' as the one reviewer/dancer expected, but it's not JUST for dancers - it's for EVERY young girl! My daughter (12 yrs) & I had fun trying out the moves. And, I think you have to give them credit for repeating the moves again & again in the first exercise section (Pure Fun). Though, honestly, at first it doesn't LOOK like they are - bcs the moves ARE challenging, so, no, I couldn't keep up... but they ARE repeated over & over!! My daughter kept at it (she has NO kind of dance OR hip-hop training) & SHE GOT IT!! Give it a CHANCE!! It's SILLY FUN, IF you give it half a chance! And, we LOVED that Sabrina included an actual dance video of her own. The thing we didn't understand were the 2nd & 3rd exercise sections. They were ODDLY distracting. The 2nd & 3rd sections were strictly dancing by Sabrina & the backup dancers (not something you could 'follow' along with), but the WORST part was... it wasn't even Sabrina singing, tho SHE WAS singing to the camera. That seemed VERY strange... you were watching HER sing, but it wasn't HER voice, OR her music... you were hearing OTHER music, WHILE she's singing. That didn't make ANY SENSE!! Listening to one thing... while watching another??? But, the message to young girls IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT... & made more valuable coming from someone like Sabrina! I think they handled that quite well for young girls! It's about FUN & MOVING... not being perfect... or even doing it like someone else does! It's about being YOU & ENJOYING who you are!


If you've been dancing for about 10+ years try it

Well, it sounds good on paper. This is just way too complex for most kids. Sabrina Bryan is 24 and has probably had more dance training than any 10 or 11 year old could possibly have at their young age. It moves way too fast. The set is really boring too.

A very rare yet extremely fun hip hop dance workout

"Just Madonna" which was created by the Evolution Fitness workout DVD company is a very rare DVD, but if you are able to find it, and if you like hip hop dancing, then this is the DVD for you.

Madonna Grimes leads the workouts, and she is such a fun instructor. She makes the workouts laid back and fun to do, as she is constantly laughing and having a good time. She teaches by breaking the moves down to half tempo first, then she brings them up to speed and does them quickly. Most of the moves are real, hip hop moves unlike some workouts that just use generic moves. These are moves that you might actually see in a music video. Also, I have to add that the music used in this DVD was very funky and the beats were awesome. However, if you've done other Evolution videos, they have been used before. Also, just a note, the back of the DVD says that there are ten backup dancers when there are really just six, so I just wanted to point that out.

The workout sections on this DVD are:

Introduction - After watching some Evolution previews (you can fast forward) Madonna and her back up girls, start dancing to some street music very quickly before welcoming you to the workout. Kind of dramatic, but fun to watch.

Warm Up 1 - You do some basic moves (step touches, walks, chest pumps, etc.) to get your blood flowing before doing some basic stretches to get your body flexible for the workout. Doesn't last too long, only about 3-5 minutes, but it feels really good on the body, and it does get you sufficiently warmed up.

Dance Routine 1 - The first workout routine is kind of a fusion of jazz and street dance. It's hard hitting in some parts, while smooth and sexy in other parts. Madonna breaks down these moves by the 4 counts, but overall there are 8x8 counts of dance. There is a lot of upper body movement in this workout along with some high impact foot movements, so prepare to get a cardio workout.

Freestyle - After the first routine, there is a quick freestyle part, where all the girls dance freestyle hip hop as Madonna introduces them.

Introduction 2 - Another dramatic entrance with Madonna and her girls before welcoming you to the second workout.

Warm Up 2 - This is just as basic as the first one, but there are a few different moves so that it isn't the exact same thing. NOTE: The only way to access the second intro and warm up is to press Play All and fast forward to it. There is no option for them in the Select Scene.

Dance Routine 2 - This routine is more of street dance mixed with a bit of popping. It's a little bit more hard hitting than the other one, but it is just as fun. There's more movement in this one, so you may need to clear more of a space for it, however, it's the constant movement that makes it really high cardio. Madonna teaches this one a bit differently, as she teaches the whole 8 count before speeding it up, so you learn more at a time.

Bonus Performance - This is basically doing Routine 2 to a faster song. After you do it once, Madonna leaves with her crew.

Special Features:

There is about a 15-20 minute real of previews from other Evolution videos, but they only last a few seconds before switching. It's main point is to show you other DVDs available from Evolution.

Also, there are 2 5-minute blocks of dance choreography for the DVDs Dance 4 You: Jazz Funk (with Robert Steinbacher) and Street Dance (by Tom Woll). They show how these guys teach their DVD's promote their videos.

Then there is Behind the Scenes of Madonna's video shoot, which is really nothing but about 5-10 minutes watching her teach her dancers the routine and watching them rehearse.

And, lastly, in the the special feature is a documentary on how they make the Evolution videos and what goes into it as well as some other behind the scenes stuff.

So, overall, this DVD has a lot of content, and the hip hop dance workouts are definitely effective and fun. It's a very rare DVD, though, so if you can get your hands on it, I absolutely recommend doing so. I have to say that I really enjoy this workout. It is so much fun and I look forward to doing it everyday. I seen results after the first 2 weeks of doing it daily. I like the 20 min work out express and then I add on some of the sculpt and tone workouts to it. Have fun and enjoy yourself!


Love Zumba!

I LOVE doing Zumba! I am a big fan. I was looking for something fun to do on the days when I'm not doing Tae Bo, and Zumba DEFINITELY fits the bill. I am a huge clutz and not a dancer by any means, but I've still managed to do all the steps and figure out Zumba. I love all the different workouts in the set. They get my heart rate up so I really feel like I'm getting a good workout, but the workouts are also so much fun that the time goes by quickly. I always feel refreshed and energized afterward instead of tired. The music is great. Buy these! You won't regret it.

Fun adjunct to a workout regimen

I am an uber fit senior recovering from a year long lay-up from a back injury resulting in 4 herniated discs. I've just begun slow, short hikes and weight lifting and added Zumba to my repertoire. It's an absolute blast. For those with back pain, you can still enjoy a fun basic workout while avoiding the routines where there are some jumps and hops. I didn't break a sweat or breathe hard, but the stretching is so much fun and the music is habit forming.

Most of the dancers in the videos obviously hit the gym regularly to be in the shape they are in, so don't be fooled into thinking that, YES, YOU can look like THEY do if you Zumba daily. If you buy the Zumba set with the expectation that it is only an adjunct, you won't be disappointed.

I love this DVD set. I am taking a Zumba class but I also love doing it at home. I have several friends that I introduced Zumba to and now we meet at least one night a week and do Zumba together. I bought this DVD set off Amazon and actually got it a litter cheaper than going through the Zumba website!

I really loved the zumba classes at the gym, so I decided to purchase them on my own for home use. The service of amazon was great, faster than I expected. But the videos themselves , I thought, were very confusing. I dont even use them now, because they just leave me frustrated. And He only speaks spanish.

Get on the zumba wagon!

I took my first Zumba lesson at a gym that charged 10.00 per class. I had so much fun. It was easy, the instructor was great. She took her time showing us the steps.

I decided to save money by ordering the dvd's and workout at home. I am by no means, a dancer or even cordinated. I am doing these 3x a week to start off.
I'm still stuck on the beginner dvd, which does take you step by step each move, slowly and then they will pick up pace. I sweat and my heart beat does get up there so I'm ok with stuck on the beginners dvd for now.
I had to stop and reply a lot in the beginner to catch on to the movements. I told myself that it's ok, the more you do it, the easier it will get.

I tried moving on to the next dvd, however, they move so fast and they move their hips so much that the moves barely resemble what I learned on the first dvd and I have a hard time following along. So, until I get the moves down pat, I think I'll be stuck on dvd 1.

I refuse to give up b/c I do love Zumba so much. Just don't get frusturated. Stay at your own pace and it's ok to stop the dvd and go back until you go the moves down. :-) Either way, your working out, your burning calories, and that's the idea, right?

I initial thought I was ordering the Beginners Zumba, I then get a case which states it is Africian Beat/ Latin heat. Inside the case was a completely different disk for Belly Dancing. Very disappointed.


Good workout

This video has me breaking a sweat...I love it. It's very entertaining, motivating and a great cardio workout. The warmup even has me sweating towards the end. Madonna doesn't give good cues in the beginning, but she repeats the steps, so you eventually catch on. She'll go over the 1st move, you'll do the 1st move repeatedly, then she'll add on a 2nd move. You'll then do the 1st and 2nd moves repeatedly, then she'll add a 3rd and so on until you're doing a full dance routine. This may be difficult if you have no rhythm, but after a little practice, you'll get it and start to enjoy it. I wish it were 2 or 3 routines so that I could alternate them every week.

I bought this DVD and while the box had this cover and the DVD had this picture, it was a belly dance dvd that had nothing to do with MaDonna Grimes. I was very disappointed. What a waste of money.

3 years and still going strong

I bought this off of an infomercial three (maybe more) years ago and I still love the workouts. The DVDs give you the option of running through the workout in order, or using shuffle to change it up. The 25 minute core workout is effective given the short time frame and the advanced workout is truly challenging. I actually enjoy that Gunnar has the viewer standing, sitting and moving around. It helps pass the time. I'm glad to see that Amazon still sells this as I've recently recommended this workout to several friends. My stability ball has survived two moves and is still going strong. Overall I was very happy with this product and only wish that Gunnar made more workouts for me to buy.


love the ball

The ball is fantastic, it really takes out the boredom of regular sit-ups and crunches without straining your back.
The workouts however were a bit disappointing, there was no continuity you had to get up then down, stand by the ball, then sit on it, then stand again, then lie on it. It was very disjointed and prevented me from really getting into it, there weren't enough reps either so just as you got the hang of what to do you had to get into a completely different position again. I felt it was unprofessional and ineffective but I was very happy with ball and use it inconjunction with all my other workout dvd's when they start crunching and press-ups.

A Rare Disappointment from Evolution

I love everything Marcus Irwin touches; his ideas are spot on, and he typically refrains from kitsch. His videos are fully fitness and form-focused. The background 'babes' or 'fantastic fours' are typically wholesome, clothed in fitness clothing (street clothes) and just come across as being fully engaged in what they are doing: teaching a real aerobics class.

This is the first disappointment I have had since starting with Evolution videos. The blocks are not clearly articulated. This may be due to Didier's English (quite frankly, I would have preferred the video in French, I know previous Evolution productions have been offered in German). He seems ill at east in front of the camera.

I have taken many W. African, Afro Samba and samba reggae and even Haitian/Caribbean dance. The moves Didier presents ARE decent, W. African variations of classic hi lo moves...so the concept behind the video is great. However, maybe due to Didier's authentically African/absent cueing (I have found this a problem in my classes), this is difficult to follow...anybody used to counting (uh, that would be MOST certified fitness instructors) will be sorely disappointed. Also, the blocks don't progress in any clear way, it feels like you are doing movement, stop, march, stop, okay now move, once again. Very disjointed.

Finally, this is the first time I have heard "sexy" and "seductive" used in an Evolution video. I am NO prude and I understand the cultural/social origins of W. African dance, including fertility connotations. However, this is an EVOLUTION production, not something out of Hollywood California, nor is it an anthropological examination on the role of procreation in W. African dance. The worst part is the girl they have as a backup dancer, his 'baby' Leslie. She can dance, to be sure, but her pants are falling off and the moves she does with Didier are overtly and unnecessarily sexualized. She also looks about twelve, which makes this even more disturbing. What is with the Slo-Mo of her hip grinding at the end of Intro? My ten year old daughter even rolled her eyes.

I do not like the cheap feel of this video. It seems tacky. Everything up until now has been total class. I am a huge fan of Steve, Lindsay, David, Robert, Rebecca and Marcus, can't wait to get my hands on Balasz's step workout. However, this DVD really disappointed me. What is Didier there for, to show sexy dance moves, to bump and grind with Leslie, to teach actual blocks you can implement in your hi-lo class...what IS the focus of this video?

I wouldn't go so far as to say I wouldn't buy this; it might be fun for some people, how much of a workout you can get when there is no momentum, I am not sure. However, if you are expecting the classy, fitness-forward sweatfest you normally get from Evolution, you will be left in a lurch by this production. If you want other types of DVD introductions to the aerobic component of W. African dance, I would suggest Debra Bono, Kukuwa for Caribbean based, and African Healing Dance with Wyoma for the choreographic/interpretive component.

goes great with sweater dress!

I have enjoyed these leggings so much since I received them as a gift for Christmas (along with KD's sultry sweater dress). I like where they hit me on my torso - not *so* low, like the annoying trendy jeans that seem to be made for 13 year old girls with no hips, and not so high that they give you a wierd line at your belly-button when you wear them under a dress. They're kind of like the 3rd bowl of porridge in "Goldilocks and the Three Bears": 'just right'. Because they're made with KD's signature stretch fabric, they cling to you gently, and move with you beautifully, without sagging at the knees or in the behind. I've gotten countless tights from Target, the Gap, etc. that end up sagging. Who needs sags and wrinkles to add to the junk in their trunk under a dress?! I sometimes wear these to do yoga, in the cooler months, and sometimes lounge in them around the house (my baby loves sitting in my lap when I'm wearing these!), but I also really enjoy wearing them under a dress with boots - you can totally dress them up or down, and they're great either way.

The Standard for Ballet Tops

KD Dance makes the best knit ballet tops hands down. I have several of these tops which never cease to please me. Plus my ballet teacher doesn't get on my case about not being able to see my form when wearing them, yet they are comfortable and once you put it on somehow you just feel like dancing. The soft elastic fabric just does that I guess. Cut on the smaller end so purchase a next size up if you're concerned about tightness.

For those who have taken on p90x and think they can fly by the p90x+ videos, think again. These are more challenging than p90x and I wasn't expecting it. Great videos to add to the collection if you're looking to stay in shape and not repetitively do the same exercise routine with the p90x videos.


Nice Change of Pace, but Short on Content and Feels Like an Infomercial

I bought this product along with Insanity: The Ultimate Cardio Workout and Fitness DVD Program after I finished the classic P90X Extreme Home Fitness Workout Program - 13 DVDs, Nutrition Guide, Exercise Planner. It's a nice change of pace, and the workouts are effective, so overall I'd say I'm content with the purchase. However, the purchase is marred by a few frustrations.

First, the product placement is so shameless and repetitive it's almost comical, like an SNL sketch making fun of infomercials. I'm not talking about the mandatory "don't forget your recovery drink!" that appears once or twice in every P90X video. Tony hawks the Bowflex SelectTech dumbbells so pervasively it feels like this is an infomercial, which would bother me less if this were a free demo on YouTube, but becomes annoying very quickly when it's in a video set you paid $70 for. In one video, he plugs the product about half a dozen times - basically every time he reaches for the dumbbells. "Grab your Bowflex SelectTech adjustable dumbbells! . . . Thank you, Bowflex! I sure love these SelectTech adjustable dumbbells. . . . Don't forget your Bowflex SelectTech adjustable dumbbells!" These are already rushed DVDs, as they tried to pack each workout into a shorter package, and at times they're pretty short on explanation and tips. It would be nice to have that time spent on content instead of wasted repeatedly trying to get us to buy more stuff.

Second, one of the great things about the original P90X is the variety of content. You had 6 strength training routines plus the Ab workout (sort of half a workout) and 5 cardio/stretch routines, plus a lovely Nutrition Book and Fitness Guide packed with information and exercise descriptions. This box is more like something out of a bargain bin. Gone are the info-packed books; it just includes a little pamphlet with more product placement, a short exercise program suggestion, and instructions to go to the website to get workout sheets. Beyond that, it costs about half what P90X does, but contains less than half the content: 2 new strength training routines plus a new Ab workout and 2 new cardio routines. So you spend half the money you did for the first program, but you get 4.5 routines with bare-bones informational material instead of 11.5 routines with two material-packed books.

Despite the above, as I wrote at the outset, overall I'm content with the program, mostly because I like the new Kenpo workout, the Upper Body Plus workout is great, and I enjoyed the new Ab workout. I just wish I could give the product a whole-hearted 4 or 5 stars like Insanity and P90X instead of a hesitant 3.

This was ordered for my 18 year old son. He and his friends having been doing it together. Even though it sounds like a herd of elephants upstairs, they all are really pleased with the program. My son has lost 20 lbs since football season got over, and believes P90X has helped. He's going off to college this fall, and I guess he wants to look good for the girls.

Great Workout

If you like Jari's Get Ripped 1000, you will also like this workout. It took a couple times of doing it to really get the hang of it (the aerobics are a little more complicated at times) but it is a very effective workout.

It is different from Get Ripped 1000 because there is literally no rest as Jari moves from cardio to strength training. Get Extremely Ripped 1000 also gives you the option of two 30 minute workouts or doing it all at the same time. There are also options to just do all cardio or just weights.

Very good workout and a nice change of pace compared to her other workouts. Easy to adjust if you need to be challenged or something a little easier. I highly recommend it!

I consider myself an intermediate to advanced exerciser, especially when it comes to cardio, and this workout definitely had my heart rate up. I didn't use a step, but will be buying one to up the intensity a little more.

This is a great dvd and really good workout. She incorproates a lot of different things so not to make it too boring. They have good energy in the workouts. I enjoy doing it and REALLY feel the results the next day. I recommend it.

Nice workout but hard

It is a serious and hard workout. But don't let that throw you off. If you can get yourself in the zone to do this a few times a week, you WILL see results. I did when I was in that zone and right away, as in relatively quick. It has been sometime since I have done this DVD, I intend on getting back on the bandwagon using this DVD for sculpting and toning. Something that Jari Love keeps talk about in the DVD is the number of repetitions , there are small movements but a lot of them. She does a good job focusing on technique. The other performers in the DVD follow varied levels for beginners, intermediate and advanced. So if you are tired on some day just do beginners. For cardio, pick something else. I haven't ever done this continuously for months, but mostly twice a week for about 3 months and it helped because I was sore for the next couple of days. Again, it is broken up in segments working on different areas of the body, so you can skip certain sections. I've almost always followed the way it is. For a certain level, you may need a step for one of the levels but don't have to haev it. You will need a minimum of 3-5 pound dumbells of course for all levels.

I guess I could wait until I actually see results to type a review but I decided I will give another update after a month.

Okay, I read some of the not so nice comments here and that's how I knew I would like this DVD. I think it is more for beginners or intermediate. That said, I want to encourage anybody who is terribly out of shape or have problem body parts (I have a knee problem and lower back issues) to get this video. Do what you can and your endurance will come. I stopped several times my first time but I finished it. I really am in horrible shape but if I can get through the entire thing-yes, I stopped a few times-I think beginners who are as bad as I am or are in better condition than I am in will be fine. Just push through little by little until it's time to upgrade to a more intense workout.

There are are different trainers on the DVD you could follow. If being fit and healthy is important to you then get this DVD to start with. It may not look like much if you see a preview but believe me you will get a workout. It just creeps up on ya.

Next I will try Extremely Ripped 1000 by Jari Love and then Zumba which looks amazing!

My first Jari Love DVD and I love it!

I have had Slim & Lean for several months and love it so much I'm on Amazon again shopping for some more of her Ripped workouts. So, since I'm here I thought I would finally write my review. I love Slim & Lean. It is the first exercise DVD that I have done that has REALLY challenged me. Best of all, I see my muscles becoming more defined. Yay! I love a workout that makes me feel sore afterwards. It makes me feel like I've actually accomplished something for the time and sweat I put into it. This workout defintely does that. If you are a beginner to Jari's Ripped workouts I would start w/ this one or the original Ripped first. From all of the reveiws I have read on Amazon and on Jari's website, each consecutive DVD gets more challenging so I am planning on purchasing them in order of release and then rotating them to keep my workouts varied and changing. Slim & Lean is a great workout and combined w/ a healthy diet and other exercises like cardio and pilates or yoga should get any exerciser in much better shape.

I love that there are 2workouts. This is my go to tae Bo workout because no matter my fitness level, I still get my heart rate up, work underused muscles, and my aching back and shoulders get a decent stretch with all the punching. My abs and hips do, too! For tougher muscle workout, add weights or resistance bands.

Yeah, this is a pretty good work out. It makes you sweat. The 8 minute work out will make you have a heart attack if you are not careful! I liked how there were heavy people and older people along with the super in shape people. I suspect that this work out has good results. I myself have only done it three times, so I wouldn't REALLY know. But after those three times, I felt fantastic! It's worth a shot.


Billy, you saved my life!

I bought this DVD almost three years ago. These were the first two Tae Bo workouts I ever did. At that time I was fat and unhealthy and depressed. Tae Bo helped me pull myself back up. There is something about the music and the moves (and Billy!) that pulled me in so that I WANTED TO WORKOUT!!! I found myself arranging my day around my workout. Now I have become a lifelong exerciser and am addicted to kickboxing. You have to love the workout or you won't do it, and for me Tae Bo is easy to love because it is so fun.

After I had been doing these two Basic workouts for a couple of months, I started the Get Ripped Advanced (awesome workouts!!) and then later I got the Advanced Live 1-12 workouts off eBay (even more awesome!!). Now I have about 30 or so Tae Bo workouts. I cannot say enough good things about Tae Bo. It changed my life.

I see these workouts as a great starting point for someone wanting to get fit. If you have never had any martial arts instruction, consider getting the Instructional workout first so you will have good form and not hurt yourself. Otherwise, have fun!


Tae-bo "Get Ripped II" Basic Workout will get you in shape!

I bought the Tae-bo "Get Ripped II" Basic series last week, and I love it. Tae-bo "Get Ripped II" is now my primary workout program with a little yoga here and there. I found the pace a little fast in the beginning, but since then I have eventually learned the moves and can now match the pace.

I use the shorter 8-minute version as either a lighter workout (later in the day), or when I haven't got the time in the morning for the longer 20 minute workout (which is closer to 30 when you factor in the warm-up and cool-down stretches).

This is a great workout for anyone who is really, really serious about losing weight and staying in shape.

I highly recommend it!

The ball came nicely packaged, but without the plug and the plug puller! If i didn't already have these items from a previously broken exercise ball from another company, this purchase would of had to been returned. The ball is a quality ball and very sturdy. Buyer beware.

I bought an exercise ball at a sports shop a few months ago and it was just massive, so I ordered this one hopping that it would be what I was looking for. And when it arrived and I got it inflated it was perfect. Using it just about everyday and I love it. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with a way to inflate it.

small ball for small people

The thera band 45cm exercise ball is just what I needed. I have always worked with the 55cm, and it was not ideal. I am 4'10" and this is perfect. All of the exercises for toning and strenghtening are so much easier now that I have the right ball with which to work. Easy to follow inflation instructions and a clear and concise exercise program to follow.The recommended height/weight chart should be followed for the right fit.

Great Ball maybe a little small for a 75 cm ball though?

I got my ball today, three days after i ordered it which is nice, but i realized they didnt give me a workout sheet or instructions on how much psi to fill it to. They did give me a measuring tape but i dont know exactly how it works because there arent any numbers on it. It seems like a great ball it feels nice and durable ill keep you posted, but one thing i am noticing as i fill it up is that it is only 24" tall and i ordered the 30" blue one, maybe ill keep filling it up but it seems pretty full already. Im 6'1 in case you were concerned with sizing, i would probably go with the 85 cm ball if youre taller than 6 feet

Exercise Ball Very Strong but a Little Small...

I bought the red 55cm-size ball and my husband used an air compressor to blow it up. Trouble is, it was a little smaller than it was supposed to be when he finished. I mean, the little measuring tape they give with it was measuring the size it was supposed to be, but the actual size wasn't 55cm! I was sitting on it with less than a 90° angle between my thighs and calves. He made it a little bigger with more air and now it is fine, altho it is bigger than the tape measure says it should be. I am only 4' 11 1/2" tall, and should need the yellow ball for my height, but decided to go with the bigger red ball. It's a good thing I did! I think whatever size you are supposed to get, you should move it up one more size, if you want it to fit your body correctly.

As far as the quality of the ball, it's very strong and sturdy. It hasn't leaked at all in the month that I have had it. It's very comfortable to sit on and works very well with the exercises I am supposed to do. I would buy another Thera-Band ball, if I needed another one...I only gave it 4 stars because of the size issue, not it's performance.

This ball never inflated to it's intended size. The 55cm inflated to the size of a 45cm. The company insisted it was the pump I was using but actually there was no way it could stretch any bigger. It's a 45cm ball with a 55cm label on it.

I would just like to say, that for anyone that does not know Dave Randolph, you need to. Period. Dave was my first martial arts instructor and for the five years I've known him, he has been one of the best. He was in class every day much earlier than any of us and constantly practiced his martial arts along with kettlebells and body weight exercises. He would work out before class, and then stay through two beginning and intermediate classes that left everyone else dripping in sweat. On Wednesdays, he did this along with conducting a conditioning class after the first two classes. I would collapse along with the rest of the class and watch as Dave continued on, apparently unaffected by the workload and its intensity, and tell me to "GET UP!" When sparring, you feel as if you're sparring a baby gorilla that knows kung fu. Dave strives to exceed in everything he does and will always push us to the point of exhaustion. I have never known anyone in as great of shape and with the ridiculous amount of discipline he has. I have just ordered this book and anxiously await its arrival. For now I will just say you should have full confidence in anything Dave says. He is a great martial artist and teacher. With his extensive knowledge and understanding of fitness and martial arts, along with his great teaching abilities, there is NO doubt in my mind that he will help you achieve your goals! If your goal is to get ripped abs, then you have to know what to do. Just going to the gym and doing sit-ups and crunches is not enough, no matter how hard you try. You do not have to do a 1000 sit-ups a day or spend hours in the gym to get ripped abs.

A lot of people don´t know that when you are lifting heavy during your squats, lunges, deadlifts, and the bench press, you will be using the ab muscles to a great degree. The ab muscles are involved in every weight lifting exercise you do, so ensure proper form is being utilized during all workout sessions.

Another big factor is of course body fat. If your body fat level is high, then nobody will see your abs. If you want your abs to see the light of day, then you need approach single digits, or close to it. You can get rid of fat by burning calories.

Weight training is a great way to speed up your metabolic rate, which in turn will burn calories. You burn more calories with squats and deadlifts, simple becuase more muscle is in work. If you do bicep curls, then much less muscle mass is working.

How should my ripped abs workout look like?

That is a good question, finally someone asked it. Like I pointed out earlier the more muscle is workig the more calories you burn. Create a weight lifting routine so that only core, compound lifts are included. This would be movements such as squats, lunges, deadlifts, bent over rows, shoulder presses, and the bench press. That way you will work your body much better. Correct training with a proper diet will burn body fat and if you are doing everything the way you are suppose to, then you end up with really ripped abs.

I love this DVD! However, it is NOT a real workout. It does teach you the basics of exotic dance and Lady M is great! These moves will leave you feeling feminine, sexy and ready to delight your main squeeze! I just wish she would come out with a Belly dance DVD!!

Great sexy moves, but not for everyone

I love this dance dvd work out, she is great and I love her moves. Very sexy and feminine. I have learned some moves from her and really feel sexy doing it (does not have the whole lot of different moves though). At first, I didn't think it "work out" but it works, I actually felt sore in some areas after practicing it.

Although, I don't think it would help much if you want to drop 10, 15 or 20 pounds with it, if that is what you are looking for. It's just a workout to keep your body sexy and tight, but it's not a "real work out" to help you lose weighs, so make sure you don't put a lot of hope in it :)

Anyway, I love it as I don't even weigh over 100 lbs, I just want to feel sexy and need some fun working out, so I'm happy with it. Will buy another one after this.

Really good intro/instructional video

First of all, I actually bought two Madame M's, another instructional DVD called Strip To It, and one of the "Fawnia" striptease DVDs, all at one. I think the combination of all really worked to strengthen the impact of each one individually. If I'd had any ONE of these DVDs only, I wouldn't have gained enough movement vocabulary to put any kind of routine together. Okay, so that said, about this DVD in particular.

I'm 40 and have ballet, tap, jazz dance experience, but nothing in the way of social dancing, hip-hop, or exotic moves at all, and little confidence in this area. For me, this DVD as an instructional video was really tasteful, perfectly paced, unintimidating, and approachable. After instruction on certain moves, you do a short little combination to show you how you can link some of the moves together. I personally spent a lot of time rewinding and practicing each individual move over and over until it felt natural for my body, and then moved on to the next bit. I think that approach really helped me do the choreography part. Three sections - standing, floor and chair - I was particularly interested in the standing part, not so much the rest, so I personally wished the sections were longer. But in combination with the Strip to It DVD, it gave me great stuff to work with.

The demonstration routines at the end not entirely representative of the moves you learn throughout the DVD - they were faster, and included lots of new moves and combinations you don't see earlier. But you can't learn everything in one DVD. Besides, the demos are good for giving you ideas.

For the people who have or might criticize this DVD for it's music, or lack of work-out, or whatever - this is definitely not clubby, hip-hoppy, Christina Aguilara "do-me" type of stuff; and it's definitely not a dance-along work-out kind of thing. It's instructional. Learn it, practice it, find your own music, put your routine together, and pass the DVD onto someone else who wants to learn how to be a little more sensual with their bodies.

I'm pleased with the purchase and it's giving me exactly what I wanted.

This is such a great workout that will really get your heart rate up and make you sweat like there is no tomorrow. I love the trainer. She is so fit and has a really awesome accent that is just nice to listen to.

I love the opening stretching sequence. The moves really elongate your muscles in preparation for the upcoming workout -- which is a tough one. The trainer is very motivational and the scenery is lovely. Its really cool how the atmosphere is in conjunction with the workout -- i.e by the end stretching sequence the sun is setting in the background which is really lovely.

Lots of toning and cardio for a great and fun DVD I actually look forward to doing. (MOST of the time ;) )

I own two other Self DVDs and this one is my favorite for all around workout as well as on set rapport. A+


Is she kidding?

The excersices are good for developing legs but, seriously...sexy? Those are the worst I have ever seen. I would NOT want my legs to look like that. Check out Jillian' Michaels' stuff, it's much better.

The Best Workout for Legs

This is one of the easiest videos to follow. I achieve better results with this video than with any other leg specific video and I pretty much own them all. I like that she incorporates some arm exercises while working your legs but not too much so that your arms stay lean without getting large muscles. Although the video is leg specific I feel that I get a complete overall workout and this is my #1 video that I like to do. The only video I supplement this one with is a short ab specific workout. The instructor Violet Zaki has one of the easiest going personalities of any instructor but she still manages to motivate. Her presence is never irritating like a majority of the over hyper trainers on the mass videos out there. I highly recommend this video and Violet Zaki's other videos like "Self-Your Best Butt Fast".


great workout

I took pole dancing class, and I want my own pole, after I got this one, I don't really like the way it works, like other buyers said, this pole moves a lot when you spin on the pole, very bad quality, I guess it's called you get what you paid for, I highly recomand you buy a better one, maybe more expensive, but it worth it, this one is bad bad bad.

I was so exited when i order the pole aerobics fitness dancing, so when it arrives i screwed to my garage ceiling , and i start to make the moves but the bad thing about the pole it is still moving, so i need check out every time when i move around the pole, so i really sad about my bought..


Need to be careful...

I received this pole a little over a week ago, and I finally got to try it out last week. It took a bit of work to get together (but that was mostly my fault). At first, I couldn't get the bottom portion of the pole into the base piece, but after a bit of work, it finally popped in. I started trying it out a bit, and it was a lot of fun!

Then, I tried my first spin on the pole. Mind you, I'm a beginner, so this was my first spin ever. It seemed sturdy enough when I did it right-handed. However, I'm ambidextrous, so I wanted to see if it would feel better with my left hand. I swung into the spin, and the pole twisted, shorted the top portion, and fell over (since I didn't want to put holes in my ceiling just yet).

So, this pole seems fine for everything but left-handed spins! If you're going to do them, I highly recommend screwing it into your ceiling!


Dancing Pole as Gift : )

The recipient hasn't opened this yet....but surely hope she's tickeled with the product. I chose this unit because of the portability, and not having to adhere it to a ceiling (as apartments frown on that ) ! So if you have a rental property....try this unit! I think it'll be a fun gift, and give hours of exercise and "whatever" for the user : )


It's an ok starter pole

This pole is good for just starting to see if you are into the whole pole dancing thing w/o having to put out $300 for something you might only use once. the only thing that I absolutely hate is the height adjuster on the bottom of the pole scratches you when sliding down. Other than that it is ok. I can climb all the way to the top, do inverts, and spins on it w/o being afraid of it falling down. Since I've had it I've never bolted it into the ceiling and its still stable.

goes great with sweater dress!

I have enjoyed these leggings so much since I received them as a gift for Christmas (along with KD's sultry sweater dress). I like where they hit me on my torso - not *so* low, like the annoying trendy jeans that seem to be made for 13 year old girls with no hips, and not so high that they give you a wierd line at your belly-button when you wear them under a dress. They're kind of like the 3rd bowl of porridge in "Goldilocks and the Three Bears": 'just right'. Because they're made with KD's signature stretch fabric, they cling to you gently, and move with you beautifully, without sagging at the knees or in the behind. I've gotten countless tights from Target, the Gap, etc. that end up sagging. Who needs sags and wrinkles to add to the junk in their trunk under a dress?! I sometimes wear these to do yoga, in the cooler months, and sometimes lounge in them around the house (my baby loves sitting in my lap when I'm wearing these!), but I also really enjoy wearing them under a dress with boots - you can totally dress them up or down, and they're great either way.

I bought this DVD as a supplement to the P90X program that I recently purchased. It is an intense workout that definitely works. Follow the steps, do what they say and you will have the body they promise you.
I will say that the first two weeks you will be sore, but you see results quickly. I am happy.

Interval X Plus seems to be a substitute for Plyometrics for P90x grads. As Tony says in his intro, "Interval work is a lot more effective than standard cardiovascular exercise." Plyo is one of my favorite workouts, so I did not look forward to replacing it. This workout is only 41:30 minutes and thankfully so because it is HARD! I had to give myself extra breaks the first time I did it. There is only one break in the middle, I feel this workout needs more little breaks while the Kenpo workouts need fewer breaks, but I guess that would defeat the purpose of Intervals.

Intervals keep the heart rate moving up and down because you are moving at three different speeds. Your "rest" is doing a move at a less intense level for 20 seconds, then you pick it up for the next 20 and go full tilt for the last 20 seconds. After one move you go immediately to the next move at 20 seconds easy pace and so on. You also do Core Synergistic moves like Loading Dock and 3 Count and Prison Cell Push Ups (I HATE those!) which adds to the intensity. After a minute break, you do the same moves again but in the opposite order, so you do the Prison Cell push-ups back-to-back! Ugh! This workout is probably effective as heck, but I dread it! I will add this workout to my rotation once in a while to mix things up, but I will continue to do Plyo more often.

The Abs/Core Plus routine is great! It is 20 minutes, so it is a little longer than Ab Ripper X, but it is over in a flash because there are so many different moves you do and in different positions. You do an exercise hanging from a pull-up bar, then standing with or without light weights, then in a push-up position, and then in a sitting position. Each block of moves includes exercises in all four positions, so there is a lot of variety. It is effective, too! My question is: why is this workout included in Interval X Plus? You do not do Ab Ripper X on Plyo days, so why would you do Ab/Core Plus on Interval days? This workout should have been included on the Total Body Plus DVD. It's a pain to have to put in two different DVDs on Total Body Plus days.

Luckily I have 90% of the equipment that was used on this DVD. But if you are a person that doesn't own much exercise equipment and isn't looking to buy any, then you probably don't want to purchase this DVD. I thought it was a really great (and tough) workout and thought it was worth the money. Just make sure you buy all the equipment they use in this DVD when you purchase it. Most of it is pretty inexpensive pieces that are used (like resistance bands), so it's really not as bad on the wallet as you would think.

P90x Plus brings a whole new tempo and attitude to the P90x workout. The two resistance workouts move lickety split with lots of new moves using weights or bands, push-up bars (optional), and pull-up bar. The Upper Plus is 41:35 long, so it is almost 20 minutes shorter than most P90x resistance workouts, but it is just as intense because it moves so quickly and some of the moves work multiple parts of the body (i.e. core, arms, legs) at the same time like the "Fly Blast" and "Warrior Swim." The "Combat Push-ups" are very hard. They are military isos where you move your feet from side to side for each rep. It runs for 90 seconds, which is very difficult. What I've found with a lot of the exercises in the P90x Plus series is that they are timed rather than maximum reps, so they really test your endurance as well as strength. The "Shoulder Everything" and "Bicep Everything" where you do shoulder lifts and bicep curls in different positions isn't difficult at first, but they each run 90 seconds which really challenges one's fortitude. Traci Morrow uses dumbbells for the exercises using weights while Mark Briggs demonstrates the same moves with bands.

The Abs/Core Plus is excellent. It runs 20 minutes, so it is about 4 minutes longer than Ab Ripper X, but, unlike ARX, it does not consist of just floor exercises. Abs/Core Plus incorporates what I like to call "stations" (I've never heard that term used before, but I like to use it). You move from one "station" to the next in each round of exercises. Each round consists of an exercise hanging from the pull-up bar, standing sometimes with weights, in plank position, and on the floor. There are 5 rounds with all different movements. Most of them are 30 seconds long which is a relief when doing the hanging crunches because they are hard--especially "Mixed Bike" where you're cycling your legs while hanging. A couple of the plank exercises count repetitions. The weights used are very light (2.5 to 5 lbs for women, probably 7.5 to 15 lbs for men). Brand new moves are introduced in this workout including "Scorpion Plank" and "Cherry Bomb." New music is used in these workouts, too, but listen for the one played during "Wood Chopper"; it sounds like a whale sneezing.

I am happy to add this workout (as well as Total Body Plus) to my rotation and look forward to using it because of all the variety of moves it uses. My favorite workouts tend to fly by, and this one is definitely over before I know it, plus I feel good afterwards. Anyone who has been doing P90x for awhile will benefit by incorporating the resistance workouts in the Plus series to their regimen. I'm not a big fan of the cardio workouts in the Plus series, but they also bring a different style which is what "muscle confusion" and breaking plateaus is all about.

I purchased this item for my self looking at the description. The juicer and the 4 replacement gaskets were missing also there were 3 mugs and not 4. When I contacted the seller As seen on TV or more and also amazon they were unable to replace it for the correct item. It was just the waste of time and money for me and I would not trust the seller in future. Also amazon should take more responsibility of what the product description says and what the seller is sending.

I bought this product for myself for Christmas. It was money well spent. I use it every day to make fruit smoothies. I have tried it to make tuna salad also. I have not tried many of the recipes that came with the product yet. It is also, so very easy to clean up. I would highly recommend it , if you like to make smoothies

Perfect for Heart Health needs

2 heart attacks! After weeks of rehab I turned to Leslie Sansone's style of exercise. It duplicated what the rehab program taught with expensive machines, which I could not afford. A few DVDs I could afford. It worked! Latest testing proved that the second heart attack effects have been reversed, no permanent additional damage. The exercise, almost daily, helped, along with a smart diet, good Rx, and prayer.

If you have a heart condition, have a family history of one, or just need to begin to get in shape, this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AS A BEGINNING. If you are already exercising, and want some challenge, Leslie has other DVDs, tons of them, to choose from. They all work the same way, walking, do-it-your-way--your-pace, and not dance routines. Sansone has DVDs for every age, every ability.

I even tried walking a paved walking path, locally, and found the DVDs offer me more of a workout, more aerobics, and less impact (stress on my old legs), than the actual walking trail. I've recommended several of Sansone's DVDs because of my own heart condition--and now I see the American Heart Association has agreed, and they too are endorsing this fine, safe, doable, and successful exercise option.

Heart Healthy Walk

I ordered this DVD from Amazon.com about a week ago and didn't get an opportunity to use it until this very morning. What a workout! I was sweating like a stuck pig and really felt like I had gone to a gym instead of just working out in the privacy of my own home. I mean this is great for getting your day started and getting yourself up and motivated to face any challenges that may come your way. I recommend this DVD to anyone who is serious about losing weight and wanting to start an exercise program that they will "want" to continue. My goal is to walk 3 miles a day for this entire week and I know I WILL do it because Leslie makes all of her walking tapes fun and enjoyable. You really feel like you have accomplished something great by the time you hit that Cool Down part of the tape. I will be 67 this next month and Leslie helps me to feel like I'm 16 again. Give it a try -- you're never too old or too young to exercise!

I have many of Leslie's videos. This one has a little more upper body than some of the others which I like. It is a good workout. It prompts you when you are at 1 and 2 miles in the video so you can stop and cool down if you don't want to go the entire 3 miles.


An Excellent Cardio Workout!

I have several of Leslie's DVDs and am using my experience with the other DVDs as the basis of my review of this DVD.

Here's what I love:

- The pace of this one is faster than many of the others. Quickly gets my heart rate up and keeps it there for half an hour.
- Typical easy-to-follow Leslie steps.
- The clock in upper left corner counts down to the end of the video.
- It's Leslie all by herself.
- It includes some good tips for stretching, and exercising, etc.

Here's what I'd change:

- The American Heart Association and Exercise TV logos are visual clutter at the bottom of the screen.
- There are ads at the beginning of the DVD, like a movie DVD. Takes extra time in the morning (before work) to fast forward through them. Could live without that.
- The camera work is "fancier" than the DVDs of Leslie in her studio in Pennsylvania. Lots of swooping, and panning in and out. I prefer the simpler camera work for a workout DVD.

Neutral comments:

- The quality of Leslie's DVDs filmed from her studio seem to be better. This DVD looks blurry in places--it reminds me of cheap children's cartoons where they compress the files and then you can really see the pixels.

Changes and neutral comments aside, I'm still glad I bought this DVD, and will probably buy another copy as a gift for my mom because it's a fantastic workout.

I love this dvd, but I can't give it 5 stars. :( My only complaint is that Leslie does not use all new background music. Some of the songs are repeated on her other fitness dvds.


A step-up (walk up) for the heart-healthy needs

I can't praise this lady's walking exercise enough. It has helped reverse the effects of my last heart attack. Walking exercise, diet, Rx, and prayer has eliminated traces of the last heart attack, with the exception of the stent. A true program for the heart patient. Now even the American Heart Association is recommending the walking with Leslie Sansone. She makes exercise easy, but it's still the needed aerobic workout, and at individualized level adaptability. You don't have to be a dancer to do this DVD.

You can add or subtract movement as needed to fit the stepping exercise to your own needs and ability for any particular day. I found it more low-impact friendly than the paved walking trail in our local park. Yes, with the DVD I work up a sweat, expected too in rehab. This is an inexpensive, equipment-free, method to reproduce cardio-rehabilitation success in your own home, at a fraction of the cost. I'd recommend the supervised rehab first, then Leslie for the rest of your life for continued heart-healthy living. Don't forget the diet, she stresses that too. This DVD also will take off some pounds, a positive side effect for every cardio patient.

Come to think of it, this cardio friendly DVD is also just what any health conscious person could use. Weight loss, toned muscle, aerobics, stretching, it's all there and presented in a friendly, non-threatening manner. Good for any age, any ability. The program is adjustable...daily.

This is a longer walking DVD, a companion to "Start! Walking with Leslie Sansone 1 & 2 Mile Walk". I recommend both, begin slower, 1 mile, 2 miles, work into the 3 mile, but you will do it quickly, IF you really use these DVDs daily. We did, my wife and I. She does it for routine weight & health maintainability. And my encouragement, God Bless her. We're hooked on Sansone DVDs at age 60+.

I have to say that I really enjoy this workout. It is so much fun and I look forward to doing it everyday. I seen results after the first 2 weeks of doing it daily. I like the 20 min work out express and then I add on some of the sculpt and tone workouts to it. Have fun and enjoy yourself!


Love Zumba!

I LOVE doing Zumba! I am a big fan. I was looking for something fun to do on the days when I'm not doing Tae Bo, and Zumba DEFINITELY fits the bill. I am a huge clutz and not a dancer by any means, but I've still managed to do all the steps and figure out Zumba. I love all the different workouts in the set. They get my heart rate up so I really feel like I'm getting a good workout, but the workouts are also so much fun that the time goes by quickly. I always feel refreshed and energized afterward instead of tired. The music is great. Buy these! You won't regret it.

Fun adjunct to a workout regimen

I am an uber fit senior recovering from a year long lay-up from a back injury resulting in 4 herniated discs. I've just begun slow, short hikes and weight lifting and added Zumba to my repertoire. It's an absolute blast. For those with back pain, you can still enjoy a fun basic workout while avoiding the routines where there are some jumps and hops. I didn't break a sweat or breathe hard, but the stretching is so much fun and the music is habit forming.

Most of the dancers in the videos obviously hit the gym regularly to be in the shape they are in, so don't be fooled into thinking that, YES, YOU can look like THEY do if you Zumba daily. If you buy the Zumba set with the expectation that it is only an adjunct, you won't be disappointed.

WOW, AWESOME!

WOW!!! I finally ordered this DVD and am so glad I did. I've been exercising regularly for a year and a half starting out with Tony Horton 10 min trainer and then adding to my collection of DVD's as I found ones that interested me. I recently got "hooked" on watching Biggest Loser on TV thus purchasing my first Biggest Loser DVDs, Yoga Meltdown & Power Sculpt. I like to keep things interesting so I change up the workouts often so that I don't get bored and in a rut/plateau if you know what I mean. So needless to say, I thought I was in pretty good cardio/strength health until this morning when I pressed play on Cardio Max Level 1 with Bob.
He kicked me right to the ground. It was great! Now I wonder if I was really getting the cardio workout that I needed in the 50 minute workouts I've been playing. It's been just 6 short hours since I finished his level 1 and I'm really starting to feel it in every part of my body. I already want to go home and try level 2 & 3 just to see if I can do it to my body again today. As with the power sculpt dvd with bob, he's very motivating. He really makes me feel like I can do this! I'm strong, think positive and just do it!
Again, I just have to say, "WOW!" If you don't have this DVD already, you should. Even if it's the DVD you put in only once in a while it's worth it. I can't wait for Levels 2 & 3. Yeah!! to the Biggest Loser DVD's I love them.


Awesome workout

This is a great post baby workout to work the core muscles. I like how it gradually eases you in and it's easy to follow the instructions. I have done a few dvd workouts and so far, this is the only one that works for me and I feel my heart pumping when I do this workout.


NOT for beginners!

So disappointed. This is a poorly organized dvd. And by no means is it for beginners. If you don't already understand proper form or are completely out of shape, DO NOT DO THIS DVD! I am a personal trainer that, for many reasons, has been out of commission for over a year and was looking for a beginner dvd to help motivate back to shape. I already know proper form and most importantly how to modify so I could do the moves and not re-injure myself so I was able to get a decent workout out of it without hurting myself. A true beginner will at the least be set up for failure as most of the moves are too difficult or at the worst actually attempt this and hurt themselves.

This really is a hardcore workout!! I was sweaty after the warmup so if your into that heart pumping workout this is for you,

On the other hand if your just starting out it is something that you really have to work yourself into so don't be discouraged if you can't do every move, there's alot of jumping and squatting so if you have knee or joint problems I would not recommend this

The Wave Rocks

I am 67 years old and have lived in a beach city my entire life. This exercise tool truly simulates surfing, without the water and associated fear of sharks or drowning. The exercises portrayed on the accompaning DVD's offer a full body work-out and excellent instruction. I have also found that the Wave is a wonderful tool for the improvement of balance. It forces one to stand straight with knees slightly bent. The best part is that is really fun to use!!

All about butt and thighs... very little upper body exercise

I was really disappointed in this workout system. The main focus is butt and thighs and hardly any of the video is dedicated to core or upper body. I don't think this is a very well rounded workout. Also, the wave board is frustrating. I was constantly have to put the board back on the mat as it does not stay in place. I will stick to Core Secrets.

Fast Results

I've been alternating the upper and lower body dvds as well as throwing in the abs workout and adding the Code Red a couple times a week for the past 6 weeks. I have also been walking 3-5 miles 3 times a week and closely monitoring my diet.
Results: I am 5'8" and started out at 159 lbs (I have a 5 month old and did absolutely nothing but eat during my pregnancy and got up to 180lbs. My normal weight is around 140lb. I've lost about 15lb and 5 inches in my hips and 3 inches in my waist and I have gained so much energy. In fact, I am about to purchase Chalean's Turbo Fire because I've really come to enjoy working out and I want to take it to the next level.
Now the cons...the music is crummy and Barry can be incredibly obnoxious. I really like Cindy, the trainer who is actually performing the excersises with you. I also wish it didn't require all the extras like the transformer and power handles. Storage is scarce in my house and the really take up a lot of room.

All in all, it is a great workout and a really great starting point b/c every excersise is modified for beginner, intermediate, and advanced.


Best Workout to Lose Inches

I recently bought this system and I am SHOCKED by the results. After the first six workouts, I lost an inch off my hips & waist. Keep in mind, I'm not new to exercise and I'm within 5 pounds of my goal weight. It's an intense workout, but it's worth the effort. I'm so glad I bought it!


Great Program but DANGEROUS

A couple weeks into this program, which I otherwise like a lot, the black resistance band broke suddenly while I was exercising, and nearly took out my left eye. Vision is still blurry and I hope it heals up fine but thought I'd warn others that this product has a serious flaw. I may resume with the green band but I'll be wearing racket ball eye protection. This product should not be sold, in my view, until this problem is fixed. Not to mention that the black band broke after only a couple of weeks!

I have only been doing it for two weeks, just alternating the upper and lower workouts (taking off two days a week randomly). I see pretty drastic changes already, especially in the wife. We are not losing weight, but seriously shaping up.

If I were coaching a tennis, soccer, baseball team, I would buy 10 of these and start off the practice with this workout...it can be found for about 20 bucks on another site.


equipment keeps breaking

This seems to be a great workout DVD system, and I do like doing it but my equipment keeps breaking! I have never been able to make it through a full 30 days because something breaks everytime. Within the first couple days, I believe day 3, the "Transformer" exploded while I was using it. Because I was within my trial period the company did replace this at no cost to me. Also, the DVD's were not the best quality the mission specialists on both DVD's skip badly. So, I get my replacement transformer and try to start again, this time the power handle resistance band snapped. By this time my trial period was over and I had to replace this at my own cost, another $10. I really liked the workout so I paid it. But, here I am again, Day 8 and another resistance band has snapped. I will not be replacing it again, I will just go to the store and get a better quality one that may last more than a week! To conclude, I really do enjoy the workout but expect to replace your equipment to be able to continue these workouts.

I finally decided to try out the Bender Ball. I've been wanting to try it out and decided it was the right time since I couldn't find anything else that would work. I've had for a little over a month, and I used the video a couple of times to memorize the moves and I try to work out for ten minutes every morning and night (of course that's not always the case!)
So far, I find that this little ball is a miracle worker. I can just fell that my abdomen area is so much smaller than usual! It just feels and looks smaller. I guarantee that if I keep up these workouts I will slim down to my liking! Definitely purchase this and feel the workout!

I've tried it twice now. Each dvd consists of three 6 minute workouts, or
you can select "Play All" to do them consecutively. Yesterday I tried Core
Training. I did the first 6 minutes and didn't break a sweat; second 6
minutes, still nothing; third 6 minutes, meh. Today I tried Selective Core
Training, with each 6 minutes focusing on a region of the abs (upper, lower,
obliques). After feeling nothing yesterday, I decided to just "Play All."
I'll be generous and say I felt like I got a moderate ab workout, but I
didn't feel the typical ab workout pain I get with Core Max by Cathe Frederich. I guess Bender
Ball will be my lazy day workouts, since it doesn't seem to take much
effort.

I got the Bender Ball a few days ago and man!!! I am feeling it in muscles I never knew I had.
I am one of those people who is horrible at following instructional videos, but these are so easy to follow and show both the harder and easier variations at once. I especially like the product itself because due to arthritis in my back, conventional ab and back work is not the easiest or painless thing to do; the bender ball makes doing these exercises a reality for me.

I felt the results the first day! Love it! I have heard bad stories though about ordering it from the actual website, that they sign you up for DVD's every month with you knowing, buyer beware if you go that route!

I have enjoyed these leggings so much since I received them as a gift for Christmas (along with KD's sultry sweater dress). I like where they hit me on my torso - not *so* low, like the annoying trendy jeans that seem to be made for 13 year old girls with no hips, and not so high that they give you a wierd line at your belly-button when you wear them under a dress. They're kind of like the 3rd bowl of porridge in "Goldilocks and the Three Bears": 'just right'. Because they're made with KD's signature stretch fabric, they cling to you gently, and move with you beautifully, without sagging at the knees or in the behind. I've gotten countless tights from Target, the Gap, etc. that end up sagging. Who needs sags and wrinkles to add to the junk in their trunk under a dress?! I sometimes wear these to do yoga, in the cooler months, and sometimes lounge in them around the house (my baby loves sitting in my lap when I'm wearing these!), but I also really enjoy wearing them under a dress with boots - you can totally dress them up or down, and they're great either way.

Jillian always delivers!

I have all of Jillian's DVDs and love them all, but sometimes I like to work out while watching television and therefore have to improvise my circuit training. I can only remember some of the exercises so it becomes very limited. These cards, however, take the guesswork out and make it easy and fun! While some of the exercises are the same as her DVDs, others are different. I've been working out consistently with Jillian since last August, but after 2 of her circuit training cards (for a 90 minute workout), I'm actually a little sore!

Definitely a new favorite!

Jillian has transformed my gym experience amazingly. It is easy, intense and gives me the results that need. I highly recommend this cards. However I must say that if you are a beginner, this might be too much for you. I would say this is a program for a person that is already fit but wants to get to a higher point.

Haven't gotten into the program yet, but I just got the Kindle version on my iPad and checked the charts. They are readable and can be enlarged. Get the Kindle version if you have an iPad; get the hard copy if you have a Kindle. 5 star rating is for quality of the electronic version only, not for content as I have not gotten that far.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started the 100 push-ups program, but I have been more than pleased with the results. I'm on week 4 and can already see huge progress. I haven't had a strong upper body and it's something I've been wanting to remedy. This book was the solution! It's laid out so easily and allows for steady improvement. Can't wait to try the other programs the author has created!


Excellent Concept - worth the money

Fantastic book. Inspirational and easy to follow. I'm 57 years old, recently had shoulder surgery (right) and wrist surgery (left), but find that I can still do the program (week 3 day 3). I especially like the emphasis on warm-up and stretching to help prevent injuries. My daughter and one of her friends are also doing the program.

4 stars instead of 5 only for two reasons: 1. neither the website nor related iPhone application use the same program as the book. This is confusing and unhelpful. Is the book more current or the website/iPhone ap? 2. The book fails to tell you how to test yourself once you have completed the 7-week program. This information is easy to find on the website, but it is a strange oversight.

I bought this book based upon many positive reviews, but I am so dissapointed! It's just pictures and lists of medical terminology that I am not familiar of. I'm looking at the book now, but it just does not give me any inspiration! I glimpsed at a bookstore a new book "Anatomy for Yoga" by Leigh Brandon and Nicky Jenkins, which was released pretty recently and when I looked the review section of "Anatomy for Yoga" on Amazon, interestingly, I found Leslie Kaminoff, the very author of "Yoga Anatomy" condemned "Anatomy for Yoga" and rated "one star"! There are also correspondences between Leslie Kaminoff and Leigh Brandon. I agree with Leslie that the new book looks very well written and to me, inspiring. I haven't bought it yet, but I am going to buy one. The very fact that Leslie Kaminoff got so angry about this new book is simply because the new book is really good even in the eyes of Leslie. And printing the muscle anatomy chart in the Yoga book may be a new trend. It's not just Leslie's previledge to do so, although he was certainly the forerunner and thus gathered acclaim from others. "Anatomy for Yoga" really looked intresting incoporating different approaches to how to deal with "Kyphosis", "Lordsis" and other symptons of spine and the authors list several yoga poses to fix each sympton. There are even detailed mention about chakras and other useful information on poses. So it is totally different book from "Yoga Anatomy". And I wish that I had waited to buy this book until I found "Anatomy for Yoga"!


One Glaring Flaw

I haven't read this book through, just examined the treatments of a few poses. That was enough to see that the book wasn't what I was looking for -- a quick visual reference to the muscular activity involved in a pose a la Delavier's Strength Training Anatomy. Trouble is that the illustrations highlight all involved muscles in red. I then have to go to the text to see which muscles are working and which are stretching. The stretching muscles should have been in blue so that the reader could see at a glance what's happening in the pose. I'm sure it's well done for what it is but ultimately not very helpful.

good illustrations

The illustrations in this book are fantastic! The intricate detail provides a great visual to see what is actually happening in a well executed asana. The text is useful too, but it is written with very technical language and may take a bit of extra effort to absorb. I have found some answers to questions I have had in acheiving certain poses. I would recommend this book to serious Yogis.


Good illustrations - not so good "how to."

This book does an excellent job of explaining which part of the body is used in each asana (muscle groups, tendons, etc). I particularly liked the very in depth intro describing the anatomy of how humans breathe - very useful in yoga practice. The illustrations were also great and they covered quite a variety of poses.

However, I was expecting more of a how to guide for each pose. Possibly a "make sure to keep your feet in line...tuck your tailbone...look forward to lengthen the neck...keep your thigh rotated to bring your knee out...etc" - things you hear from teachers in class that help you get the correct posture. This is not the case with this book.

I also thought the anatomy part was a little overkill. It's nice to know which part of the body is affected but I am not a doctor and to use the Latin terms just confuses me. Many times muscles were referenced in the text of a pose that did not have a label in that pose's illustration - which means I either had to remember what that muscle was or look back through the book. Not that user friendly.

Overall: good book for those who want an anatomical understanding of yoga. Not good for someone looking to supplement classes or practice on their own.

This is not always true. However, some dieters may actually be able to eat whatever they want and still stay in shape. When you try to lose weight you may eat some of your favorite foods while you pay attention to the amount of your food intake.

Myth 4: Never eat after 8.00 p.m. or you`ll gain weight.

False. The most important is how much you eat and how much you exercise, not when you eat. Don`t eat snacks while watching TV, using the computer, or playing video games. You need to be aware of how much you eat, and when you're doing something else while eating, you may lose track of how much you're eating.

Myth 5: Certain foods help you burn fats.

Not really true. Certain foods that contain caffeine can enhance your metabolism for a short while. However, those foods do not result in weight loss, or make you burn fats.

Myth 6: Herbal weight loss products are efficient and safe for your health.

Not really true. Weight loss products are not necessarily safe just because they are "herbal," or "natural" . Many herbal products that claim to help you lose weight are not always scientifically tested for safety or efficiency. Certain natural products may cause negative effects along with other drugs or have unwanted effects on people with certain medical conditions.

Myth 7: Nuts should be avoided during a weight loss program.

Not always true. Some types of nuts contain saturated fats that may increase the level of cholesterol and the risk of heart disease. Other types of nuts also contain fiber, proteins, and don`t have cholesterol. They can be a part of a good weight loss program while they are consumed in small amounts.

Myth 8: Red meat is not the best choice for weight loss.

Not always true. Foods like red meat, fish, chicken, or pork contain saturated fats, cholesterol, but also protein, zinc, and iron. However, lean meat is indicated for a weight loss plan.

Myth 9: Vegetables and fresh fruits are better than frozen products.

Not always true. Both frozen and fresh fruits and vegetables are healthy. Fresh fruits can sometimes lose nutrients after light exposure.

Myth 10: Fast foods are always unhealthy.
