The DVD's definitely kick my butt! I am still sore after the yoga one...and it has been 3 days! The diet part is more difficult to follow. I also cannot afford to purchase the supplements they encourage. So, I am only doing the DVD's and definitely seeing my strength increase, which is pretty much my reason for doing the program. The variety is great! He is also funny and keeps my interest.

Started using this product this week and am completely sore in places that haven't been sore in 15 years. The workouts are excellent and difficult but not impossible if you are in decent shape. I have been going to the gym for a long time and had been so bored with my routines. I wanted a way to increase my flexibility and strength (not just the appearence of strength). I would strongly recommend this product to anyone that has hit a plateau and needs to get off. Tony does a good job of keeping it interesting, at times I feel like I am being trained by Ace Ventura.

Worth every penny.


GREAT value

As with any exercise product (especially those shown in informercials late at night when you're gorging on Doritos and thinking it would be nice to have a six-pack....... abs or beer...), it's completely worthless unless you choose to change your lifestyle and commit to the program. But if you're willing to take it seriously, you can't beat P90X.

Not only does the program come complete with specific nutrition information, a variety of workouts and an interactive website, but Tony Horton is always saying "Do your best and forget the rest" and reassuring you that even if you can't do the current workout now, you'll be able to do it in a few weeks if you stick with it. And he's right. Strength and endurance grows very quickly and if you follow the diet plan, you'll see results quickly.

I pause to mention that I started P90X over a summer where I could eat for free at work and so did NOT, in fact, follow the diet guide. Consequently, I didn't see the results that many people post online. HOWEVER, as a test, it was a success. Why? Because even though I wasn't as streamlined as I could/should have been, I've seen HUGE leaps in my strength and endurance and definite change in my physique. So using the diet guide correctly, you should see amazing results.

The workouts are TOUGH and some are LONG (an hour and a half of Yoga), especially if you're relatively new to working out. Most likely, you won't be able to hang with some of them all the way through even after two months - but this is a great motivator, as long as you don't let it get you down! There are two camps about Tony Horton's training style - you either love how corny he is or he gets annoying quickly. Either way, his motivation far outweighs whatever you may think of his style and the handy time bar and visual prompts for each exercise make it easy to follow what's going on should you wish to use your own music mix and turn down the video volume.

Another great motivator, by the way, is the included DVD "How To Bring It" where Tony shows you a short version of how the whole system works and gets you excited about doing the program. On days when I truly did NOT want to exercise, I'd force myself to watch this DVD and a bunch of the P90X Results videos posted on YouTube for inspiration. It never failed.

I HIGHLY suggest purchasing an array of weighted exercise bands at the same time you purchase P90X. They're mandatory unless you already own or plan to buy both a pull-up bar and a full set of dumbells. You won't be able to do the program unless you have these.

The website is great for not only planning and recording your workouts (which is a great motivator) but for connecting with other people using the program and getting answers to questions you may have. There is an additional fee to use some of the online things, but you can set up a profile and do many helpful things for free.

I never thought I'd work out at home and I certainly never thought I'd use an exercise video. But if you commit to pressing play every day, you quickly find that the workouts are so engaging (and sometimes so difficult) that your brain goes on autopilot and you put all your energy into the workout instead of wandering around a gym waiting for a bench to open up or trying to remember what comes next in your routine. Well worth it.

DVD's unplayable or skip - Seller unresponsive

I wanted these DVD's for a long time and finally the price was right. Free shipping and speedy delivery was a bonus. The problem was with the quality of the disks. Everyone of them are scratched from the way they are packaged I suspect. They come in a wallet. The sleeves are made of some type of construction paper.

Once I made the commitment to start the program I discovered the effects of the scratches... skips and freezing. I am still on phase one, 6 disks and 2 of them are faulty. I have attempted to contact this seller Five Times without a response. The P90X program, price and speed of delivery gets a 5, the sellers customer service, response to your issues and quality of merchandise gets a zero.

Purchase from this seller at your own risk. If you're lucky enough to get disks that play, you'll be very happy with your purchase and savings.

Note: Don't even try to read the user guide, you'll drive yourself nuts with all the typo's. I'm not just talking about a few... there are hundreds.

This is not a joke program. These are high school athlete/military style workouts. Very basic. Jumping jacks, running, pushups, squats, with some basketball and football moves thrown in. I love jumping so that is actually fun for me. I have even learned not to mind pushups so much which I detested before. You will break a sweat in the first five minutes. You feel good but tired afterwards. It feels like you ran 10 miles - but the beauty is, you did it in 35-40 minutes! However, I want to reassure people - this is do-able. Even if you are in slightly-below-average shape, you can do it, but you just have to be gentle with yourself, take breaks to breathe and drink, watch your heart rate, and take rest days when it becomes too much. I do as much as I can and I don't stress about it. I haven't lost any weight which was kind of disappointing but the toning of my core and the muscle definition in my legs was pretty dramatic. However I also did not push the program in the way you are supposed to; I just could not manage it with my work schedule and responsibilities at home. I am happy with it and it is my fitness tape of choice. I think it is less entertaining than Chalene Johnson's stuff so I am probably going to start intermingling Insanity with the advanced Turbo Jam tapes to keep myself motivated to work out consistently. I haven't bought Chalean Extreme yet but I can imagine that it might be a good mix also.

i've been a runner for over 10 years, and wanted to add a little core and upper body strength for a change during this past winter, as i was mostly confined indoors. i have to be honest that i was already in pretty good shape, i'm not an ultra marathoner but would do a 15 mile run about once a week or every other week. this program was horribly tough. as a woman, my body actually skipped a cycle while i was doing it. now that i've finished and eased up on it (use it mainly for maintenance purposes), my body has resumed its normal pre Shaun T cycles.

the most difference i've seen is definitely in my upper arms/shoulders area. coincidentally i was away from my husband for a few months while following this program for work reasons. when he saw me he was actually taken aback and told me that my shoulders and upper arms are really pronounced. i guess i couldn't tell the difference; i saw myself every day. but he has since been inspired to be a Shaun T fan.


Best Workout Ever!!!

"Insane" is an understatement when it comes to describe this workout. Get ready to sweat and work every part of your body!!! First week is the hardest because you will be really sore. I do recommend the recovery drink after the workout. It does help with the sore muscles and you will feel better the next day after the workout. Shaun T will keep you motivated. Insanity is never boring! This workout will push you to the limit, but it will absolutely get you in good shape. "Dig deeper" people!!!!!

No, I was not in awesome or even great shape when I started this, like most people who seem into this workout. And I should mention I am only on Week 3, but the results are AMAZING, already.
What I love about INSANITY is that I really feel like I have accomplished something at the end of each workout. I see the results in my body (I take a photo of myself at the beginning of each week as a reminder).
The important things to know are: 1) it's okay to modify the exercise (assuming you are familiar with the techniques) if you don't quite have the physical strength yet, 2) knowing some good breathing techniques will help you immensely, because this will really push you to the limit, 3) Go at your own pace, because whatever it is, it will still give you results, 4)you absolutely must be good to your body...no hard landings.
I see the most dramatic change so far in my core. Everything is stronger, tighter. I think you need to be able to do a boot camp style workout in order to be able to do this successfully. I took one at my local gym before starting this and I am really glad I did because this is way more intense.
In addition to the physical changes, I have to say there is an emotional boost to doing this. I feel awesome about how much I have improved already, and just how I am doing something that makes me really sweat.
My only, paltry gripe is that I wish the meal plan had some on the go style options, because I am a grad student and I have to eat on the go a lot.

When I heard about Hip Hop Abs with Shaun T., I thought that it was hilarious and another exercise fad. I was looking for a workout that will give maximum results, fun, and hard core. I find it better to do abdominal workouts vertically than the traditional way of on my back and my neck getting a strain. Shoot, you can do more crunches than on your back! It really worked out for my obliques! I highly recommend this product for anyone who want a difference in their belly.

Fun,easy to follow, and definitely works your abs! The vocals should be louder. I found it is difficult to hear the steps being called. The cardio routine is a good work out. If you are putting forth the effort, you will be sweating. I would recommend this package to someone who is interested in working out at home and wants to concentrate on the abs. A great way to exercise!

I have ALL of the Turbo Jam videos and I love Chalene in general -- but this is one of my favorites. I was truly shocked how much the ball adds to the intensity of the workout. It is pretty hard! It will leave you feeling toned and worked out. While I am now in pretty good shape such that I do not use many of my old basic Turbo Jam videos, this is one that is tough enough to keep in my routine. It is a great advanced workout for the core; I can literally feel that my abs are tighter afterwards.

This is a geat workout! But be aware all you Turbo Jamers, this is much more difficult then any of the other DVD's. I can pretty much breeze through the other DVD's, while this one left me panting and sore. Of course, this is a good thing!

What I really like about this DVD is that it is so different from the other Turbo Jam workouts. I really like Turbo Jam, but Jamers know that each DVD is pretty much the same; same movements just changed up a bit. Also, sometimes I feel that each section is just a little too repetitive. Not so with this DVD. This was a refreshing change. I like it!


Turgo Jam Total Body Blast

I just recently received this DVD did the workout and I can't believe I paid 42.99 for this, anybody know why this one was so expensive compared to her other workouts. I did break a sweat, probabley will do it again. I am big fan of her other DVD,s, I own 3 others. Maybey I expected so much more for the price I paid, I guess I feel ripped off, this one is not as fun to do. I would not recommend this DVD especially for the price you pay.


Fantastic Ball Workout!!!

I own most of the Turbo Jam videos, and today I did Total Body Blast for the first time and it was AMAZING! I love all of Chalene's videos, but this is the only one so far that has actually left my arms and shoulders feeling sore! I would have never known that a ball would make me work out even more than the weights! It's a longer workout, 60 minutes, but definitely worth every second!!! The entire 60 minutes are in intervals mixing cardio and abs, using the ball in every section, from warm-up to cool down!

Love it!!!!


Great DVD a must for Chalene Johnson lovers!

This workout is really great! I love how she works the ball in, some cardio, then ball work, back and forth. It is a 60 minute DVD, but really doesn't seem like it! It is a must to your Chalene Johnson collection. I wish she would do more DVD's with the ball. The ball gives you a really good workout! The music is good. This is another one that I include in my favs. You will want to add it to your collection.

Late night surfers have all seen and lingered on the barrage of infomercials featuring Leandro Carvalho and his bevy of Brazil butt-lifted beauties dancing, sculpting and defying gravity while scantily clad in skin-revealing bikinis and the teeniest work out shorts. Boy oh boy--no wonder Carnivale is held in Brazil! His B(ea)utties surely look good, but is the system all hype or does it really work?

After consistently working out with Leandro of the smiling face, heavily accented English ("Ni---ice"---"Don't settle for less") for over four weeks, I can happily say that yes, indeed, it does. Carvalho, workout butt-miester to celebrity models and Victoria Secret stars, delivers an intensive program that can be extended indefinitely in an infinite maintenance phase that actually gets the results. A consolidated effort at his "Triangle Training" accomplishes that rounded effect one expects to see on the backend of a bikini.

However, there is a reason that Leandro's workout team consists of twenty-something lovelies--this regime is not for the faint of heart. As a woman of a "certain age," I found this routine tough and I have been running for over twenty years. With that in mind, if you haven't been changing it up--doing calisthenics, weight training or stomach crunches for a while--even if you have been aerobically working out, you will definitely feel your body creak and groan as it gets back into shape--making the old adage "no pain, no gain" a butt-clenching reality. If you are an exercise newbie, this routine may prove to be too challenging by far. Those of you stuck in your own exercise limbo need to think outside your carefully constructed box. Try this and over the span of the first four weeks you will find that gradually--like everything else--it will get better with practice and familiarity. Your body will begin to respond, your brain will register the routine as rote and you will find yourself smiling while doing some of the toughest butt exercises out there in video training land. Nevertheless, it would be nice, Leandro, in the next Butt-Lifting go-around (I know you are now offering a Brazil Butt Lift Maximum Results System of which I am a proud owner) to have some aging Brazilian cuties so that we, age-defying die-hards, don't feel as if we aren't even supposed to attempt your possibly youth-specific regime.

Not that these routines are new--Leandro puts a samba spin onto his moves with upbeat music and sequences shown alternatively in a studio and on a beach. Some camera shots showcase full screen blow-ups of the team's beautiful derierres that, nice as they are, do not help the at-home participant focus on the movements that will enable learning the moves faster. Any of you Tae-Bo Workout (SET OF 4: Basic, Instructional, Advanced, 8-minute Workout) [VHS] aficionados out there have done many of these butt beaters before. What's different is the pace--where Blanks sometimes motivationally speaks until the exercise became too repetitive, slow and cranks to a standstill, Leandro knows when to transition to the next move--he keeps the tempo accelerated until he reaches his cool-down stretch. By that time, you know that even after that hot indulgent soak in the tub, you will feel the strain of your muscles the next morning.

Wisely, Leandro anticipates this also--scheduling in days off in the first week so that your body can adapt. In addition, he mixes it up with five separate workouts to keep the repetition free from the boredom of doing the same 35-minute routine over and over again. In order to get a well-rounded exercise experience, I included an outdoor 3-mile+ run in on the days that Leandro recommends taking a well-deserved break. Keep in mind, however that running has been part of my exercise regime for years and that abandoning this activity while concentrating on my glutimus maximus/medius/minimus just would not work for me in terms of tiring me enough to provide me with sufficient sleep or a feeling of overall wellness. In conjunction with Brazil Butt lift sessions and running, I included a serious slim down plan of my own making which centered around the healthy consumption of green juices and raw salads with minimal amount of grains, fruits and protein--similarly Leandro suggests embarking upon a sensible 6-day dieting plan packaged superbly in a glossy foldout brochure featuring luscious looking foods and even more attractive Brazil Butt Lift graduates.

The five programs stretch out over three DVDs. The first, foremost and most frequently used is called Bum Bum ("boom-boom"). Consisting of 35 minutes of lunges, squats and Leandro's own trademarked moves like the Ipanema Walk (a real killer until you master it), Curtsey Lunge, and Squat Arabesque, `Bum Bum' introduces you an intense system of dance moves that incorporate butt-elevating magic that is sure to provide that proverbial pain that means delightfully rounding out your jeans. In addition, Bum Bum Rapido offers an alternative to Bum Bum--but, I confess to exercising to it only once as it was a more one-on-one targeted session featuring Leandro with only one model participant.

"Sculpt" (50 minutes) and "High & Tight" (35 minutes) require equipment--either handheld weights (Sculpt) or ankle weights and a resistance band (High & Tight). While "High & Tight" targets the lower body, "Sculpt" works out the arms and the chest. "Tummy Tuck" devotes an entire 20 minutes to tightening the core. Of the three, "Tummy Tuck" requires the least amount of perseverance--the exercises are tough but not grueling--you will, however, feel a bit of that familiar bruised feeling associated with stomach crunches the next day.

In the "Cardio Axe" (pronounced "A-shay") segment, Leandro teaches combination dance moves that he pieces together in a fun aerobic workout that seems like dessert after all the other, more butt-centric entrees. As I chose the "Lift & Shape"--"the Flat Solution" 4-week program to target my butt-shifting desires, "Cardio Axe" was repeated only twice--not nearly enough for me to actually learn the dance steps to perfection. Other butt goals include "the Pear Solution," "the Too Big Solution" and "the Classic Solution" all of which juggle the five routines in a way that will best help the participant achieve their desired "ends." The maintenance program repeats the Classic solution.

The package humorously includes a pencil that facilitates the performance of the "Pencil Test"--an easy indicator of one's derierre status. The pencil is placed in the crease where the butt meets the top of the thighs. If the pencil stays lodged in the crease, the participant has work to do. If it drops to the ground, the cheek is lifted sufficiently to indicate progress. Believe it or not, after completing the 4 weeks, the pencil dropped for me with a welcoming "plunk" onto the floor, proving, indeed, that Leandro's system does work.

Bottom Line? With steadfastness and determination, Leandro Carvalho's Brazil Butt Lift will produce the desired, promised results after fulfilling the four-week commitment to achieving a better looking, more rounded butt. The system includes handsomely designed booklets targeting: Booty Makeover (35 pages), 6-Day Super Model Slimdown--meal plan to loose 6 inches and 6 lbs in 6 days, and Fat-Burning Foods (51 pages of menus and recipes with a Brazilian flavor). In addition, a Measurement Tracker Card and Tape Measure provides a tracking system to monitor your progress as well as 12 large index cards detailing Leandro's signature moves. A yellow resistance band helps boost lower body resistance during the "High & Tight" 35-minute routine and a pencil advertising the entire program determines the rate of achieved "lift" with the traditional "Pencil Test." Be aware that Amazon's price is a little steeper than that offered on the infomercial. Recommended with the caveat that this program requires diligence to achieve results.

this product is great the only problem i had was that after playing the video a couple of times it was only playing in spanish, but i called beach body and they replaced it for free. the program is excellent and get ready for a lot of good pain.

Have been working out with this DVD series for three weeks (six days a week) and can REALLY see a significant difference. Love his energetic tone, cute comments and smile. Gave it four stars because a couple of workouts are not quite as good as the others, and having to take short breaks to fast forward through advertisements. Overall, very excited I found this.

This program contains 3 DVDs.

DVD 1: Booty Basics, Bum Bum, Bum Bum Rapido and Bum Bum Live.

Booty Basics teaches you most moves in slower pace, preparing you for all other workouts. it really does help to follow Leandro's pace later on it you take your time to review Booty basics before you start.

Bum Bum is Leandro Carvalho's signature workout concentrating on working the butt, consists of squats, lunges, one of his signature moves called ipanema walk etc. It is pretty tough, it took me couple of trials untill i could finish that one. 30 minutes

Bum Bum rapido is a shorter version of Bum Bum - 10 minutes. Contains a lot of leg lifts, squats, some jumps. it is a really good workout and it's short so it's good for beginners. i started it 6 weeks after giving birth and love it because I was very out of shape but was still able to complete it and I did feel the difference right away.

Bum Bum Live - never watched

DVD 2: Sculpt, High & Tight

Sculpt is a 45 minutes workout using weights, working upper body, core, legs and back

High & Tight is about 35 minutes long and is my favorite workout using bands. it consists of 3 parts: standing workout using bands, floor work using bands, and floor work using ankle weight. it mostly works out leggs and butt. After this omne you can really feel qabove mentioned areas burning. I loved the bands!

DVD 3: Cardio Axe, tummy tuck

Cardio Axe - 45 minute cardio dance workout. So far i haven't tried it

Tummy Tuck - concentrates on abs. To be honest I've seen better workouts for the abs and I'd recommend P90x Ab ripper x instead. Much more effective

I have been using one of the programs from [...] and so far I've been using it for a little over a week but I already see my legs getting more definition. I just had a baby and pregnancy really took a toll on my body and I am very excited to see an improvement!

I have read other reviews saying that Leandro is hard to follow but I did not have any difficulty following after the second time i used the DVDs. Also it helped that I reviewed Booty Basics in the very beginning.

Good workout! Difficult for those out of shape, but I feel I will need somethine more later. Meaning that it will get easy quickly. Most workouts are about an hour long, because you are to use two different workout on most days.
I have started to see some changes in my rear after only working out about 5 times.
