No time to exercise? Skechers Shape-Ups Women's Physical Mary Janes help you shape up throughout the day! Skechers knows that walking on hard surfaces in ordinary footwear can lead to stress on your feet, knees and lower back. That's why they developed the three-part system of Shape-Ups. A polyurethane kinetic wedge in the heel creates the feeling of walking on a soft surface, like sand. Thanks to the firm polyurethane midsole, you'll still get plenty of support. Plus, the rolling outsole propels you into the next step for an easy walk. This system helps ease stress on joints, promotes correct posture and engages muscles to help keep your center of balance. The shoe promotes calorie burning, helps to firm calf and buttock muscles, tones thighs, improves posture and cardiovascular health, and strengthens your back. This Mary Jane, in leather accented with suede trim, is easy to adjust with an asymmetrical hook-and-loop strap. more info

Flat feet rescue
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have flat feet and work as a nurse. These shoes have made a big difference at the end of the day. I have noticed a great improvement in my posture and foot/back pain. I highly recommend them!

A workout while you walk
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
These definitely make it more work to walk normally which is the claim. This particular design is a little less comfortable than the other ones with laces due to tightness in the part that goes over your toes where there is pressure as you walk.

very comfortable
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Bought this style 3 weeks ago and have been wearing it every day. They are stylish and very comfortable.
Feels like walking on a cushioned surface. Easy on my knee, great for my posture. Initially, I was hesitant in purchasing shoes with rocking motion since I have a bad equilibrium but I wore them for full day on second try. Now, I don’t even notice rocking motion. I can really feel that my calves are getting a work out.
I can’t wait until brown color is back in stock; an brown leather/suede identical in style as black one.
These dressy mary jane shape-ups goes with everything!
In anticipation of comfort, I ordered another style in taupe canvas but it is too casual and athletic looking for office.
I would recommend these mary jane shape-up to anyone looking for comfort and yet dressy enough for office wear.

Probably the best shoe ever!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I heard about MBT shoes from the popular Fit Flops. Got a pair & loved them. Then..Skechers came out with their version of it and I got a pair. Reading the reviews from MBT shoes say you should go up a 1/2 to a whole size bigger. Skechers doesn’t state if true to size or not that I can find. So I got a size 9 in the Jump Start style. Well, it was a bit big (if too big, it was harder for me to walk in them) so I had to put an insert on top of the original insert to make it fit better then it was ok. My lessoned learned, when it comes to OL shoes and you aren’t sure, try to find a store (if at all possible)that sells it so you can try them on before you buy!
Here is my shoe size for running/hiking is 8 1/2. My left foot is slightly smaller than my right so I tend to have hard time finding a good shoe, but the skechers shape ups size is 8. Other regular street shoes in skechers I can go up to a 8 1/2 depending on the shoe style.
As for the shoe, I love them! I can see that I don’t slouch as much as I used to, the shoe is very comfortable, and if I have lower back pain, it seems to subside as I use them.
If you aren’t used to these kind of shoes, it feels like at first like you are walking on sand. I am a runner/cyclist so I didn’t feel any soreness but there was a little bit more effort to walk in them until I got used to them. You can have fun with them like when you are waiting in line for something. You can rock back & forth for example and have a little workout!! There is an exercise dvd in the box with instructions on how they work, etc.
The mary janes have a strap with velcro, if you need more support than a strap, go for the ties. As for the price, not bad, most decent shoes can cost you a pretty penny and I find it worth the money (And I can be cheap!). I will probably have most of my walking shoes replaced with skechers shape ups.

Comfortable and true to size
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I’ve been a fan of the early MBT’s and hoped something similar would come along without the steep price. I tried the Mary Jane MBTs, but they didn’t fit well in the heels. These Skechers Shape Ups are cute and fit true to size. And for less than half the price, I still get that soft, cushiony stride, similar to the early MBT styles.
Funny… I’ve been wearing MBTs for so long that I’m no longer conscious of the back and forth instability of the curved soles. I let my sister try these on today. She’s never worn any curved sole shoe before, and felt that same unsteadiness that new MBT wearers feel. So that rocking action is also very similar. Hope they keep making these.

I have had severe Achilles Tendon issues over the last 4 years, involving surgery to correct. These shoes have support, incredible cushioning and encourage correct posture when walking. Took no time to adjust to the gait and these are so cute I wear them in the office. Would like to see a pair in Navy as well as ivory (have both black and brown). Totally LOVE them!

No More Back Pain!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have had terrible foot, knee, and back/hip pain for years from bunions, hammertoes and a bulging disk in my lower back. Many nights I have not been able to sleep because of the pain and after being on my feet all day, even in very low 1″ heels, I would be hobbling like a 90 year old. After seeing the add for Skechers Shape-Ups, I decided to give them a try. I found some websites that recommended ordering the Shape-Ups a half size larger than your usual shoe, so since I usually wear a 10 wide and these don’t come in size 10.5, I had to order a size 11. But the fit was great for me, and after only a week of wearing them, my foot, knee and back/hip pain is almost entirely gone and I feel like a new person. I can’t recommend them highly enough. They are extremely comfortable and even if they do look a little funny, the freedom from pain is so totally worth it. I am buying myself a second pair for Christmas!

Love My Shape Ups!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I love the Shape Up shoes — they fit my feet perfectly and feel so great! I walk around a lot for work — when I wear heals my feet hurt so bad and often get blisters. I have been wearing these shoes just about every day (I bought them in black and brown as well as other styles of the shape ups) — I don’t know that my legs look any better, but I know that I feel great wearing them and walking all day. I will agree that I do work harder when I am walking up hill and expect that I’m getting a better workout than in regular shoes.

Tires for Your Feet
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Thank goodness Amazon carries these, as I live in a small town and our auto parts store doesn’t carry them. I asked the manager, Bob, if he would please order them for me but he just was not helpful at all and wouldn’t even look them up in his huge parts book that he keeps right on the counter. I mean, it’s not like he’d have to Godforbid walk to the back but I guess laziness knows no bounds. I complained to his daddy, Bob Sr. who lives over the shop by himself since his wife Maribeth died (she drank) but HE just started arguing with me and trying to shove me across the street to the Shoe Faire. AS IF they would carry foot tires! I think not! My cousin Jethro duct taped three pair of these to his tire when it went flat and they are still on and going strong so I imagine a pair would last me till I die as I weigh at least 500 pounds less than his car (Gremlin). So if you are looking for a stylish and sturdy pair of foot tires, I recommend these. I just wish they’d make a whitewall version for formal events. Oh, and for anyone who has never worn these before, don’t try to go down a hill the first time you put them on as you may roll forward and break your nose (or your wrists if you’re NOT carrying two large bags from the liquor store). PS After a year just tie these on your bumper and take them through the car wash and they’ll look brand new! You don’t need to spend a fortune on Armorall.

No More Heel Pain!!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I LOVE these shoes!! I have terrible plantar fasciitis and these shoes give me complete relief from the heal pain that comes with this condition. And the bonus is they are even “kind of” cute. I have this style in black and brown and wear them all the time. I also bought the low boots, and the athletic style.

Very comfortable, high arch people beware some velcro trouble
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
the velcro straps adjust over the top of the arch with very little contact at the fastening side of the velcro. The tape is very short and allows very little adjustment for differences in foot shape from one person to the next. My feet aren’t especially fat, but I do have high arches on the underside of my feet. This seems poor design as though tried out on some foot mold not on a range of living human feet. The straps often pop off when first walking and it it annoying to have to stop and refasten them. I’ve had them about 2 months now and the straps have stretched a bit so it is happening less. Still they should be more generous with the amount of velcro used to allow for better fit.
Otherwise I love them. The shoes are super comfortable and help with ball-of-the-foot pain I’d been having. My podiatrist recommended these, Earth shoes and any negative heel shoes. I’d buy more Shape ups, but probably with ties for a more secure fit. I think the velcro design is cutest, but not executed well.

These run big
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I’m only writing this to let everyone know that these run big. I wear size 9 but should’ve probably ordered an 8.5. I’m just wearing thick socks & they’re still a bit big. No store had these to actually try on. I wish i’d bought the tennis shoes instead.
With that said, I definitely feel a burn when I walk heel toe.
Try before you buy esp when it’s $100

Good but a bit bulky
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I was really excited about this shoe (A shoe that works out your legs and butt??!!! Amazing) and that this particular shoe may even pass for a good work shoe. The shoes are a bit big (even though I ordered my regular size of 8.5) and I think if I ordered an 8 it would fit perfect. The Mary Jane is a bit bulky in my opinion and I realized that it would not look good with a pair of slacks. However, I think it looks OK with a pair of jeans. Also, you need to wear socks or stockings when breaking them in because it gave me a blister on the back of my foot that is killing me! However, I can tell that these will really help tone my legs and I think I will order another pair but in the regular sneaker version as I think they may feel a bit more comfortable.

It’s a great shoes for those who do a lot of walking and standing.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve been wearing these shoes for 3 weeks and I love them so much.
The first day I wore them (more than 10 hrs long), I could really feel the strain on my calves and my thighs.
That means my lower part of the body really workout.
After wearing them a couple time, I felt very comfortable walking on them (barely notice the wobbles).
Feel more like walking on the cloud. These shoes got a great support on the arches and that helps reduce the pain on my feet at the end of the day.
The size of the shoes reflects the true size of your regular shoes.
You could feel that the shoes got you stand up straight in order to balance your motions.
The shoes price is reasonable(though a bit higher than reg. shoes but well worth it).
I’d recommend these shoes to anybody who needs to do a lot of walking during the day.
They are great for everyday uses.
Cons:
- a little bit hot if you wear them for a long period of time like 6 hrs or more…. (it’d be great if they have a little ventilation)
(put on the no-show socks might help reduce the bad smell that might be developed from your sweat..)
Minor cons:
- the style is not really attractive but acceptable (when trade off with the benefits they’ve to offer).
- feel a bit weird to walk on them at the first time because of the rolling motions (need some times to get used to).

I love these shoes!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have these in brown. They are SO comfortable. I have tarsal tunnel syndrome and have had surgery that only half worked, and these shoes, amazingly, do NOT irritate the nerve in my foot. My friend has some, and she said she had balance problems at first, but strangely, although my balance is awful, I actually feel MORE stable in these shoes. I’m not sure why that is, but I sure am glad. To me they feel more like walking barefoot than a lot of shoes, and that is how I walk best.
I could tell after the first day that they seemed to be exercising my lower calves a bit, and my husband commented that I was standing up taller. My friend says she can’t tell a difference in her posture, but I have noticed – they obviously have helped mine.
The shoes look very nice on. The strap is velcro and it stays on very well. I also have been wearing these out in my garden a bit, without thinking, and they’ve been easy to keep clean. I got dirt and water on them the other day, but it brushed off and I can’t even tell. Whew. They were high and I was scared I’d ruined them, but nope, they cleaned up great.
My ONLY complaint is that they are a bit hot. I’ve been using foot spray to keep them from getting stinky, because the ARE rather hot to me and I don’t think they’d look right with socks.
I personally find them more comfortable than Crocs.

These shoes are very comfortable, even the first time I wore them – no breaking in period needed. They’re cute enough to wear to work with slacks and skirts. I have bunions and there’s plenty of room so I don’t feel any pressure in that area.

These Shoes Changed My Life!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have 2 medical conditions that cause me severe abdominal and lower back pain. Walking has been very difficult for almost 10 years, and I had resorted to using an electric scooter to get around for many errands and day trips. I had looked at the MBTs , but couldn’t afford to buy them, knowing that there was a good chance they would cause more pain, but when I saw the less expensive Skechers, I decided to try a pair of the ShapeUps tennis shoes. Within moments of putting them on, I was standing taller than I had in years, and also felt muscles working in my legs. After 2 weeks of wearing them according to the instructions, we took the kids to Disneyland. I used my scooter for less than 1/4 of the time! I STOOD in lines! I wasn’t sore, and when I woke the next day, I wasn’t in so much pain I had to stay in bed to recuperate. IT WAS A MIRACLE!
I have since bought 2 more pairs, including the Mary Janes, and have turned my Mom, husband and 2 daughters into users, as well. We’re all just thrilled with the comfort and therapeutic aspects of these shoes. Well worth every penny, and so cute!
Watch the DVD, and pay attention to how you walk- it does take some getting used to until you learn the rhythm. But once you do, you’ll feel the work-out aspect! Be prepared for some tender muscles at first… in a good way!
BTW- I have since tried the MBTs, and they feel identical, although more expensive. Not sure of the difference, but the Skechers definitely WORK!

This is one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. The tone your muscles, I have lost several inches in my thighs and hips. They center you which keeps your back from hurting. And on top of all that they look really great!!! I love them.

MBT’s win!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Well, I finally received the long awaited Sketchers…I’ve owned MBT’s for the last 5 years and have about 6 pairs. I wondered if Sketchers were going to be the best less expensive brand of the two. NOT! I find Sketchers soles rather gummy and skishy. The arch support is not there for those of us who have high arches. Because of the lack of arch support, my feet tended to turn inwardly and I had to consciously walk with the weight on the sides of my feet. Awful. After a few hours, my feet felt uncomfortable and in pain and the size was right. The show itself it cute–the brown Lady Jane style. For $99 it’s so so… I’d rather pay the extra $50 and get MBT’s on sale ANYTIME.
There’s no comparison. MTS’ are the only true ANTI-SHOE. Go MBT’s!

Cute shoes that really work your legs!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
These shoes really give your legs a workout if you watch the video and walk in them as instructed. It’s sort of a rolling type motion from the heel to the toe that takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get it, you can really feel the burn from the waist down. Plus, they are just really cute shoes and comfortable to stand in. I wore them around the house to break them in, and then went for a few short walks in them to get used to them. I have bad feet (flat arches) and am on my feet a lot during the day, so I’m always on the lookout for comfortable shoes. These definitely fit the bill and at this price, they are a bargain, especially compared to other shoes of this kind.
