I have a couple of MBT shoes which I love but thought I’d try the Skechers, these are just as good and about half the price of MBT’s.I bought them mainly because I do travel quite a bit and these shoes are easier to take off at the airport security, no hassling with shoe laces.Hopefully the Velcro fastening will last.

A Mini Work-Out PLUS Back & Hip Relief

These shoes are well worth the investment. Within one day, I noticed some relief in my lower back & hip, which are often stiff and painful after a day of walking. Other reviewers have complained of trouble with the velcro straps being short or coming undone, but I did not have this problem. Perhaps they fit me well because I am small-boned and have a relatively low arch. (I am 5′5 and 129 pounds). If you are a large person, or have a very high arch or thicker feet, I would probably suggest you get a lace-up style instead. The construction is very sturdy without much flexibility & they are not overly wide across the bridge of the foot. So, if you are torn between two sizes, I would go up 1/2 size rather than down 1/2 size. I most often wear a 7.5, but I purchased these in an 8 and they fit perfectly. My pair also came with a useful instructional dvd – an added bonus. And, even my fashionista teenager gave the style a “thumbs-up,” so I have to disagree with the reviewer who called them ugly! Even when you are standing still (in line or on the phone, etc.) you can rock back and forth on them, to stretch your legs and get a mini work-out. Also, I did compare them to a similar concept of “air” shoe made by Easy Spirit: the Shape-Ups provided much more of a work-out (greater rocking motion). Caveat: they do take getting used to, and do “rock” quite a bit, so I would not suggest them for an elderly person if they are at all unsteady on their feet.

Really works

These shoes really do work your calves and rear…after the first day of wearing them I could feel the difference. I’ve worn them shopping and on the treadmill many times since receiving them before Christmas. My only real complaint is that they fasten on the top of the shoe with velcro tabs that come open all the time. The other issue is that they are kind of…ugly. That’s just my opinion.

Skecher Women’s Shape Ups

I purchased the Skecher Shape-Ups for myself after my husband raved about his so much. I ordered my normal size, but they were too small so I had to exchange them for a larger size. I think it might be something with this particular design because I tried other Skecher Shape-Ups at a shoe store and my normal size fit. They do take a little while to get use to the new way of walking, but it’s a short learning curve. I love them. I can walk all day without getting tired. Great during this busy holiday shopping season. I strongly recommend them.

Love the Shape-ups, but this style didn’t fit me!

I love the shape ups, but this style didn;t seem to fit me very well. The shoe hit my ankle on the bone and felt so uncomfortable. I returned these and ordered a pair of the boots… Also, the pull-over strap made it hard to get a good fit, I definitely like the styles with lace-ups better… They are really cute though, and would have looked cute with jeans…

Moms new shoes

I got these as a gift for my 63 year old Mother, she loves them! It took a little while for her to get used to the tight fit, but she figured out that if they were loose she would have sore toes from the rocking motion of the shoe. The only down side to this shoe in our situation is winter ice. She can’t wear them outside during the coldest winter months. Your weight is transferred to the center of the shoe so keeping your balance while slipping on ice is impossible. Other than that they are awesome. I wear mine to work and no longer suffer from heavy, achy legs or sore feet.

I am totally in love with my shape ups. After wearing them, I won’t be able to wear a different type of tennis shoes. They are the most comfortable shoes in history and they have helped to lower my pain in my joints. I have a bad hip, since I started to wear my shape ups, my hip pain is almost gone. I recomend this shoes to everybody. Thanks Skechers, you gave me a new perspective about comfort and I will wear them forever. I am planning to buy another pair in a different color because I wear this pair to go to work every day. I have never felt this good in my whole life!!!!
