Nice Wheel

This was ridiculously easy to assemble, its a snug fit, it needs to be to hold together. Also very effective excersize, i would recommend it. If you are prone to a bad lower back, BE VERY CAREFUL TO READ THE DIRECTIONS!

You get a great ab, back and arm workout with this ab roller! I tried an ab roller with one wheel, but it was very difficult to maintain your balance. This ab roller provies you with more stability and gives you the same great workout! Definetly a must-have for bathing suit season!

Works well, but largely unnecessary
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This device certainly gives a good muscle burn, and actually works the lower back more than the abdominals. This is something to consider if you have back problems.
Now, while this device IS indeed effective at what it does, after having used it, (with other abdominal exercises,) for a number of months, I can say that a good number of bicycle crunches, reverse crunches, and plank exercises will just as effectively work your abdominal muscles, for free.
To get the flat tummy we all want, I am afraid no machine is going to be a magic bullet, (since you cannot spot-reduce,) and this is one more example of that.

Also, good for the obvious exercise usage.

good core workout
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Always looking for good ways to get a strong core and have tried about everything at one time or another, including many of the really expensive ab machines. To me, this is as good as any of them. Lots of different exercises, which can be modified (in most cases) for varying levels. This is one of those inexpensive pieces of equipment that really packs a lot of punch. Several things you can do with it. I love it.

Caution required, but does the job
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
While I was hesitant due to the less than stellar reviews on here, I thought I’d try it. Assembly is the worst part of this product. I got a tremendous hand work-out trying to get the handle on in order to secure the wheels in place. Took a good 30 to 40 minutes of constant pressuring it on, millimeter by millimeter. Once it was on and I used it, I was amazed. I feel a difference after doing just 10 or 20 “rolling motions” back and forth. You do have to be careful of your back when extending too far forward, but this does a great job of toning the abs and arms. The Valeo white label on the handle should be better placed. After wrenching the handle on and using the piece, it continues to wear off quickly in your hand. Other than those challenges, I actually really like this alternative to the boring sit-up.

Awesome read if you also read the 1 and 2 stars
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is great simple product at a cheap price, it is sturdy.
Some of the people gave it a bad review because they said it is hard to get the handles on but if the would have bothered to read the first line of the directions they would have read the company recommends you use a little lotion or soap, I used a skirt of lotion on the bar before slipping the handles on. It took me about 5 seconds to fully assemble and the handles does not slip off as my son has also been driving it all around.

Not for a Novice
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I wanted to find a challenging (yet innexpensive) piece of equipment to work on my abs. This wheel works very well and gives you a challening work out. As with all work out equipment, follow the instructions carefully to prevent injury.
I was a little worried after reading other people’s reviews that it would be difficult to put the handles on, but I had no problem with this. The company must have listend to your comments and added extra lube to make the handle grips go on smoothly.
Over all, I find this to be a great product.

Extremely Effective
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The ab wheel is very well made and contrary to what others have said, if you take the time to snug the grips up tight, the wheels do not wobble at all. As for the workout, it’s extremely difficult, but also extremely effective. 10 reps and you feel a burn that lasts for two days! After using 3 times a week for the last three weeks, I’ve noticed a great difference in the tighness in my abs. Recommended.

Gives a Great Ab Exercise
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I didn’t have any problems putting it together mainly because I read the reviews here at Amazon before purchasing one and saw a review where someone used a small amount of petroleum jelly to help the grip slide in.
The wheels may seem a bit shaky but, when its being used and your weight is on it, it’ll do its job. And don’t worry the wheels won’t slide off the sides.
I didn’t have any experiences using an ab wheel before so at first I was wondering why a lot of people would have difficulty with this device when it seemed like a simple enough exercise. I was completely wrong! At first, It was really hard to do those full extensions and I could feel my abs burning (which for me, is a good sign which means its getting worked out pretty good) and I felt my back being toned too.
Overall, it does its job well. And its an exercise piece that’s small enough to store easily and its absolutely worth the money. Its a great buy!

Does actually work.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
While the Ab Wheel I received does not have the same handles as that in the product photo (mine has rubber handles and the logo peeled off after a week), this product does actually work (if used correctly). After the first use, I definitely felt it in my abs the next day. Careful though, if you’re on the heavy side (like myself) don’t be too gun-ho about slimming down, you will pull some muscles after the first use.

Sturdy, decent ab wheel
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The dual wheels give this product more stability than the single wheel version I owned years ago. After spraying the metal rod with WD40, the rubber grip slid right on. The Valeo ab wheel is sturdy and I have no doubt it will last for a long while. Not much more to say about this; it’s two plastic wheels, seperated by an inch long spacer, on a metal rod.

Best ab workout I’ve ever tried
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve tried all kinds of machines at the gym and of course sit-ups and crunches from practically every position available, but this is hands down the best ab workout I’ve ever found. My old gym used to have a couple, and they were almost always in use because people loved them so much. This particular model is a cinch to assemble – just use a dab of hand lotion to slide the grips on snugly like the instructions suggest. That’s all there is to it. I can already tell my abs are going to be sore in a day or two, which is a surefire sign that I got a great exercise. Sometimes the best solution really is the simplest one!

The assembly is kind of difficult but not impossible. The product itself seems to be good and durable. Not sure about the the results yet. Be sure you exercise as directed since is really easy hurt yourself doing this. Another thing is that you have to be in good shape to begin working out with this or any other wheel. The grip is pretty bad, I have to use my gloves every time because if I don’t my hands get really soar.

I really like this wheel, you can really feel the burn in your abs and you can feel it in your arms to. I’ve only had it a few days but I love it so far. I think the grip needs to be a little softer, but with a pair of workout gloves, its no big deal. very easy to put together, took about 1 minute. But I can actually feel it working. I workout anyway, But I can already see this will bring the results I am looking for.

Great Abdominal workout
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased three wheels for family and friends. Not only is it a great gift for the hard to buy for, but also inexpensive. As my son is starting to workout, his friends became interested in how this wheel in his room worked. After showing them how to use the wheel, everyone wanted to try it! It started out to be a try it, which lead to a competition that had everyone trying to outdo the others. It made for a lot of fun and laughs. I suggest anyone that would like to do ab workouts to try this inexpensive wheel and see how well it truly works. It not only gave them something to do but was fun as well as physical. My son now has a great six pack going, and enjoys showing off his flat hard stomach!

the ab-wheel is very light and can feel very “plasticky” but it totally gets the job done. For the price (< $10), it's totally worth it. Best of all, you get the work out you want with it... a few reps and you immediately feel the ab core burn. However, i always feel that i'm not using this device correctly because i keep suspecting my posture. Having an experienced gym coach watch over you a couple of times to get the right form would go a long way to ensure you don't injure yourself and keep getting a good work out.
assembly and use instructions were lucid and helpful.

Build that six-pack!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve read several reviews here with people being confused or disappointed, but I think perhaps expectations were different. First off, I’m not a trained professional, but I’ve been exercising for years and I pay close attention to proper form for the most effective effort. I’ll try to explain how this works and what to expect.
– CORE MUSCLES WORKED WITH AN AB WHEEL:
Shoulders, arms, upper and lower back, abs (all sections)
– WHAT TO EXPECT ON QUALITY:
The quality on these things doesn’t have to be fancy – it has a simple use and just has to be functional. Two wheels are better than one, however. The wheels are solid plastic/rubber and the grips are similar. Are the grips terribly comfortable? No, but they’re not bad either and you aren’t using it for hours at a time -just minutes. Wrap some tennis racquet grip around them for added comfort if you want more, but it’s really not needed. This is a basic tool and doesn’t need to be made of expensive materials. The bar through the middle is solid metal (not sure if there is a weight limit but I’d guess at about 200lbs).
– PUTTING IT TOGETHER:
It arrives in a box as two separate wheels, a metal bar, two rubber handles and a single sheet of instructions. Place the bar through the wheels and center them as best as you can. Then slide/wiggle/twist one handle all the way onto one end of the bar (I didn’t need grease – it went on pretty easily, yet snug). Then try to line up the grip of the other handle and slide that onto the other side of the bar with the wheels in the middle. Push on the ends of the handles to make sure they’re on all the way. You will be able to twist the grips a little to line them up perfectly. Putting it together took me only a couple of minutes.
– USING IT (BASIC):
Using the Ab Wheel is simple, but really works the abs if done correctly. This simple devise helps create the line down the middle of your abs for that nice six pack!
Kneel on the floor with one hand on each handle and the wheel positioned on the floor, centered before you. Without arching your back (keep it straight and keep your head straight too – don’t look up or drop your head down) slowly roll the wheel away from your knees in a straight line before you. Your body moves forward with the wheel, away from your knees – this is KEY to making this move effective! Your weight is supported via your hands on the bar and by your knees (and a straight back). The further you can stretch your arms out before you and the further you can lean away from your knees the more you will work the core muscles in your abs. When you’ve rolled out as far as you safely can, reverse and roll back up to the starting position (this should be hard!). Line your body up facing a wall (knees 2-3 ft from the wall) and roll out toward the wall if you want something there to help you stop rolling. Line up further and further away as you get stronger.
You may not be able roll out more than 2-3 feet at first but that’s okay. (When I stop my abs/hips are about 10-12 inches from the floor. You want to aim for about a 45 degree angle from your knees to your hips and then a countering 45 degree angle from your hands on the ab wheel to your shoulders. Think of making a bridge with your body where your knees are one support on one side of the water and the wheel is the other support on the other side of the river/body of water. Again, the farther you can stretch out, the more difficult the workout, but be careful and don’t push too hard too fast or you’ll tear something! Use your head and be conservative at first.
Beginners should probably start with 1-2 sets of 5-10 reps and work on rolling out further as you become stronger. I’m trying 2 sets of 10 reps and my abs are SORE after 2 days of this!!
It’s IMPORTANT TO KEEP YOUR BACK STRAIGHT and to not arch it as you roll out. You can hurt yourself if you do this move incorrectly. The wheel comes with some basic instructions that show you the proper form. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!
– USING IT (ADVANCED):
Once you get comfortable using it as described above, add a twist and rather than just rolling straight ahead of you, keep your knees still and roll out at about a 25-30 degree angle left or right of center, twisting at the waist. This will really focus on the oblique muscles. I’d suggest alternating each direction during your reps, but that’s just my opinion.
This really is a GREAT ab workout and you WILL feel it if done properly. Good luck on that six pack!

It works but good form is a must
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This Ab wheel does work, but I want to emphasize that you must use good form. I found it helpful to press my feet up against the wall to help steady myself as I pushed out with my arms. Don’t try to go too far out when first beginning to use the Ab wheel. It does require some patience as you get your flow. What I like about this Ab wheel is you don’t have put anything together – no handle coverings. My boyfriend loves it and he has a six pack.

Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this product with a lot of skepticism — it’s made of plastic, it’s $10, and it’s a wheel that’s somehow supposed to work your abs. But reviews from other people were good and the price is unbeatable, so I just figured what the hell.
And guess what, this is now one of my favorite exercises and a staple in my at-home routine (which also consists of the Perfect Pushup and the Iron Gym). Using this ab wheel you get a great stretch and it’ll make your lower back, abs, lats, shoulders and arms work for their money. I’m a web developer, so my job is sitting in front of the computer for 10, 12, 16 hours a day, and I’ve developed a bunch of problems with posture and general joint irritation, but I firmly believe that this has helped me out.
Also my girlfriend off the cuff said “Are you still doing that ab wheel thing every night? I can tell”. That’s a nice thing to hear
Anyway, you’ve got nothing to lose for something this cheap, and I haven’t broken the thing yet, so give it a shot!

Hard to put handle on
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
In theory it is a great product and I am still able to use it. When you assemble it you have to slide the second handle on to metal bar to hold the wheels in place (it is similar to a rubber bike handle on an old school huffy). It is very hard to slide on all the way. My handle hangs off the bar by about an inch so this causes the wheels to shift position, not a huge deal, but would be better if it assembled properly.

Definitely works, be patient & do it right
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Best exercise for tighter abs. Using it for 4 weeks now and definitely seeing the improvement in my abs.
Ease of Install: Very easy & quick. Don’t know why other reviewers said it is difficult. Maybe there was some problem years ago. The instructions ask to use some oil on the steel rod before slipping on the handles.
Posture: Make sure you are using it in right posture per the instructions provided on the small paper inside the box. This is very necessary if you want to see an impact. Pay attention to the DOs & DONTs. I wish Valeo had provided these instructions on a bigger size paper & in a more readable text size & font.
Exercise: The key is to stop for a second or two in fully stretched posture in order to work the abs. It might be difficult initially, but you will surely get there in a week or two.
Mythbuster: Using ab-wheel only will not result in a 6 pack or flat abs as seen on the models on the box. You need to do cardio to burn the fat. Ab-wheel will work on the abs internally and make them tight. One health coach told me that your abs become visible when your BMI is less than 8%. I am not there yet, but working on it. Hope you get there soon.

This is a pretty simple piece of equipment, but it works. My trainer has had me use this in the gym, so I bought one to use at home. When used correctly, you can definitely get a good ab workout. It’s not as easy as it looks — but if it was, the workout wouldn’t be as effective. It takes a little while to get the proper form/motion down, but once you do, you will feel it. As far as assembly, it was a snap. I saw some other reviews about the difficulty of getting the grips onto the metal rod. I just followed the advice in the directions, which says to use soap or hand lotion and it worked with no problem. They slid all the way on rather easily. Nothing is wobbly or loose. Oh — and I wasn’t sure how well this would work on carpet, but it works just fine.

I used this for the first time yesterday and boy oh boy do I feel it today.

This is NOT a magic product that will give you a gym body by itself. I work out at a gym 5 days a week and watch what I eat and will use this to enhance and challenge myself.
My home gym gadgets are to supplement my work outs not replace them, so if you want to spice up your work out, then this is your item.

Nice complement to the push-up.
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
It’s recently been bumped up a dollar or two in price but is still a decent value, as Amazon consumers have attested by making the Valeo wheel the #1 seller in the category of sports equipment. Obviously the word is out about the superior quality of this particular wheel, since Amazon carries many other, comparably priced ab rollers made by various manufacturers. The device is not as heavy and rugged as it may appear in the photos, and it requires 5-10 minutes assembly time. But it’s sufficiently durable and free-rolling to be effective at its main task of “torso toning.” I doubt that it’s any more effective than properly performed push-ups, but it’s a welcome variation on that tedious routine. Use the Valeo wheel at home or in a dorm room or just about any place where it’s impractical to keep weights or a Bowflex machine. And be realistic in your expectations, regarding it more as a complement to, or variation on, rather than a replacement for the push-up. (Save the push-ups for the times when your traveling and living out of a suitcase or flight bag.)
The instructions for assembly and use could be clearer, larger in font size, and more thorough about technique and exercise time, but I doubt any of that will matter once the device is ready to roll. Like many exercise gadgets, it’s likely eventually to make its way to the attic or the most remote corner of a closet, but the cost of the item still makes it easy to claim that it’s paid for itself.

Entirely too hard to do, but definitely not the “no pain no gain” concept
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Using this wheel is EXTREMELY HARD, especially if your are severely over weight.
Its difficult to work your abs out with this product because it strains the hell out of your back!. The wheel is also very small, and it gives little to no support of your upper body weight, and its very hard to maneuver.
I bought it, rolled it once, and threw it in the closet so it could just collect dust.
Its just entirely too difficult and the only “gain” in this workout is some sore knees and some back pain. There are other products out there much more effective and easier to use.

Valeo Ab wheel
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
this worked pretty well the first time I used it. And it was nearly impossible to put the rubber grips onto the handle. BUT I figured that if you coat the metal in some vaseline, it slides right on and will eventually stay after a few hours. The key is to put a LITTLE cream or else it wont dry and keep sliding off. GOOD PRODUCT THO jus learn how to use it cuz u can strain ur back!

good ab exercise
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
If you are looking to work your abs from home, this is a good piece of equipment to have. I think it’s a perfect match for “Perfect Pushups.” Combined with some squats/running this is a good “home gym” for under $100. The best part is that it doesn’t take up a lot of space!!

Inexpensive, durable, and really easy to put together
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Like the title says, this item is very inexpensive, seems to be very durable, and contrary to what other people say I thought it was really easy to put together. No lubrication needed.

Gets the job done…
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Assembly is a real work out my gosh i had to spray the handle with wd40 to get the foam grip on… my gosh it was difficult to put on… but after thats over its a pretty good concept… the workout does seem promising based on after effects… the wheel is a bit shaky but that can be dealt with… overall an okay buy…

It works, but you’ve got to use it.

I have a similar two-wheel roller, purchased back in the 1960’s for about the same cost — wheels a tad wider, but that doesn’t affect how it works. This is a great aid for strengthening and toning back, abdomen, arms, and thighs, as you get down on your knees and roll the unit back and forth — and you decide just how far back and forth you can go comfortably — you still get the benefits. (And if you find yourself lying on the floor, it just means you went too far forward — lighten up a little!)
P.S.: yes, my old one still works beautifully after 40-odd years, and this one should last years too.

Worked exactly as advertised
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I wanted something that I wouldn’t have to invest time in setting up, would not fall apart, and would work well. This did all of the above. I put it together in 2 seconds, everything was a breeze, and it works well. Great product for what I was looking for.

Pretty Good Workout
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Honestly I was surprised at the crappy quality of this thing; the only thing holding the wheels in place is the rubber handle, so it’s a little floppy. It serves its purpose though, I guess.
The workout it provides is pretty good. Got this thing today, did a few sets with it, and can definitely feel it in my abs, though you have to watch your form carefully as it’s easy to arch your back.
Works the shoulders and arms pretty hard, too.

Good product except for the assembly issue.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Like the other reviews, I had a bear of a time getting this thing assembled properly. A Tip: putting a bit of silicone spray on the bar allows the rubber tube to slide on quite easily. Other than that, it works great and was a pretty good price.

Simple & Affordable

I read reviews on this product and had mixed feelings. The double wheel for stability sold me on it. People who claimed that it was challenging to build are wrong. Unless a defect, it was a very simple step to build it. It would be a 5-star if the handles were a made of foam, it hurts a bit when trying to get a grip after awhile. But with consisent practice, you will see results. You feel the burn. Start off from a wall, and slowly work your way back. Be cautious of lower back sufferers. Still a great and cheap AB product.
**I recently traveled, and the hotel I stayed in had this wheel in their gym, so its good enough**

This is a Demon!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
everyone is right, it’s very difficult to put together, and really may be impossible. My solution; Pam! I attempted to put the grips on and it wasnt working until I sprayed it with Pam. Then it went on pretty good.
Otherwise, it’s working great, i’ve lost about 8 lbs in a week and a half from it, I’ve changed my eating habits a little bit, but ot a lot. I still drink coke and 151 every night, and have snacks. i just added salad to dinners, which we bar-b-que, and drink more water during the day. The first time i used it i was sore for days, probably because i did it for 15 minutes. You should only do it for like 3-5 a day.
well i hope this was helpful!
i reccommend it, just used Pam, and dont do it too long.

Great product, Even better price

Someone told me about the Torso Track II. When I went looking for it, I couldn’t find it anywhere, besides…ugh…ebay. I started wondering if there was a reason they cannot be found anymore, but have yet to find one. However, while looking, I stumbled across this magnificent ab wheel! 1/10 of the price and does the same job. Many people had issues with the handles not fitting, but I read the reviews before I purchased it. And, therefore, had absolutely no problem with that.
If you aren’t working your back and arms, start off doing a few a day and work up to more.
Pay attention to your balance. I recommend using it against a wall or other sturdy object, to prevent you from going to far and straining yourself or falling over.
Also, make sure to use your lower back, do not let it dip or you will wind up hurting yourself.
I starting using this for lower back problems, which have gone away almost completely. Even my chiropractor approves!

Who invented this!!!
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
This is not for beginners, u have to be physically trained, the grip is horrible. Ur rolling down trying ur hardest to get back up.. u have to be really physically train. I have a stomach thats far from abeffic, its better u get a mcdavid waist trimmer or plastic wrap and do some ab workout.. If u do get to roll back up and down like ur doing a push up then good for u, most likely u will get some abs, once again its not for begginers, u have to be trained to work this. Whoever invented this didn’t think of someone like me!!

This works well if you stay with it and are patient. Don’t overdue it at the beginning or you will be really sore.

Not the best tool for the job
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I got it today. Its a real hassle to assemble, I was very persistent and managed to put it together in a concentrated effort. It actually may be impossible for some users to assemble.
The rubber tubes providing hand support and hold the central wheels in place are very difficult to put on. Also the central wheels are a little shaky since there is nothing really to hold them in place and their base is not very wide. This is a very strange design choice. I have seen other products that worked much better.
Other then that it seems to be working ok.

Shmeh
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Well, it’s cheap simple, and doesn’t take up very much room, but I haven’t found it to be as effective as just a 10 minute pillates ab routine. So, shmeh- It’s fine I guess. Yeah. It’s fine.

Simple and easy
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
It’s great! Simple to use, about 1 minute to put together and you will sure as hell feel it, especially in your upper abs, closest to the rib cage. Do a set of 10-15 of these, tack on some push ups and dumb bells and you will have a great in house work out. Be SURE to put a soft blanket or cloth down for your knees, as this wheel is built so you do the crunches on your knees.
Highly recommended

nice
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Got it at a great price. Nice burn from using it. I don’t know that 2 wheels makes it better, but it does the job.
Only gripe was that it was almost impossible to put the foam handle on over the metal bar, that was a workout by itself, had to use all knowledge of physics and all brute strength in fingers to get job done.

It was really hard to assemble. The handle cover was too tight and would not come in.
